my dad was in the "gordon highlanders" regiment ..he did tell me what they wore under the kilt.................... just put it this way the sargent on first parade of the morning walked with a long stick (with a mirror atached ) in front of each soldier ........?

Indeed, it is not nice at all.

Though it does have a plus side!

That being of course that you do not have to put up with the usual smell of vomit.
