New blue bag ?

Ok, somebody was going to mention this .. suppose better be me.

You got the new blue bag today which is replacing the blue box ?

Has got handles with velcro strap to seal and wide square base .. good solid bag, came with a note to say easier to handle than blue box. Well, yes, fed up with water dripping through the holes onto my clothes every time I carry from back to front. Will still have to go outside though, as have no more room in my pantry for another bag of waste.

Just that I read last week that they were addressing the problem of waste blowing away in the wind as per last month. Can't see that this will have anything to do with that as, at least, you could try and ram your other bags in the blue box.

Quite expected a Nori brick turning up for this exercise, so am a little confused

Don't know Magpie .. mine appears to 'have walked' today, so looks like someone took it. Next doors still there, but they do hide it behind a bush ..:D
The new bag was left outside on plant pot .. and could easily have blown away !! Leaflet pushed through door telling me to ignore the writing on the bag as outdated (was obviously meant for paper at one time). Feel that I am being wound up somehow .. but no, can't be. The plot thickens.

Willow: don't let your Willow go too green .. sure you will be next.

Sounds a bit, er.....rubbish!

The blue box provides somewhere secure to put the other sacks.

I can see this blue bag creating more litter on a windy day.

I take it this new 'blue bag' still requires glass items only still?

Glass is safer in a box than a bag surely - if it breaks it can't poke through a box.

Yes, Panther, telling you to put glass bottles and jars in it ... is very strong type material so think will hold them quite well.

Just been next door, they didn't get one .. am I being singled out ? Still suspicious.. :( Have E-mailed my enquiry to HBC .. will have to wait to see what they come up with.

Perhaps they're testing it out on the alcoholics, those with lots of bottles, first.:D

Actually, you are incorrect with your information about me ... get around this problem by drinking 'cartons' of wine .. :p

well in blackburn we have blue bags and white bags (not as posh as yours) for paper, card, magazines etc...a green box for tins, cans bottles etc, a brown wheely bin for garden waste(hedge cuttings twigs and grass) and we have a black wheely bin for the rest,we've had these for 3 1/2 years now.....imagine my confusion when we where told we could have another bin for discarded food

I don't put the blue box out every time because we don't seem to have much glass. I wonder what will happen if they swap over one week and I still have my box because I didn't put it out?

Busman was telling me today of somewhere he'd driven past where if they don't take the wheelie bins back in when they've been emptied they get a notice stuck on them. What are you supposed to do when you're out at work? Get time off on bin day to put your wheelie bin back???
