Could well be an Andean Condor - take a look at the picture top right on Pictures

It looks quite similar. Possibly escaped from a zoo or private collection???????

More inclined to go along with the Buzzard, than the Andean Condor & he did say it was dark Brown (but not that big). A long shot Bonelli's Eagle (from the size point of view) normally found in Spain & Portugal, but with the climate change & all that! :confused:

still as has been mentioned it could be an exotic escapee from somewhere or other.

More likely a European Eagle Owl. A pair managed to breed a year or so ago up by Dunsop Bridge and prior to that there were quite a few up on MOD land in North Yorks. The colour, the wingspan and the location all seem to fit.
