The street in Ossy described by Jaysay is called Moon Street (down the steps from Spring Street to the Straits). The renovated property described was given the address 4 Moon Street. Don't know whether it's any connection with Sun Street (off Lord Street facing side of Ossy Civic, was Town Hall).

Re: Adrian Shurmer (Shurmer's Guide)

I already posted on Facebook that I found Shurmer's Guide invaluable during my 25 year stint as Local Land Charges Officer at Hyndburn Borough Council (doing Local Searches for house and property purchases). The Council didn't produce its own street guide but it would have been hard to improve on Adrian Shurmer's. Sorry to hear of his death!

The curse of Jaysay strikes again! No wonder it's not on the map as Mole Street!

Davemac posted a photo of the Moon Street sign a few weeks ago.

There was a Star Street in the Antley area of Accrington, off Newark Street - Mercer's Printers used to be in that area. Now the area's been redeveloped with new housing I'm wondering whether Star Street has now disappeared off the map?

Just checked on Google satellite - it's still there parallel to Newark Street and running down to Blackburn Road. Big green space on one side and what look like derelict buildings on the other. Of course all may have changed since that pic was taken.
