Re: dr who...
We are all well excited:D:D
Apart from it will be the exit of David Tennant shortly:( |
Re: dr who...
Thread wander, looking at accylasses signature, seems we've found the Ossy Graffiti artiste:D

In my opinion David T has been the best one since Tom Baker. Be sad to see David leave n hope his replacement is as good. Cant wait for the specials:-) |
Re: dr who...
Oh i forgot about doctor who!!
probably gonna be the only decent thing on at xmas, so ill be watching, if im not too tipsy:D |
Re: dr who...
Radio Times hints that David Tennant re-generates in the Christmas Special........NEXT YEAR!
|
Re: dr who...
It looks a lot better than last years disappointing `Voyage Of The Damned` .................apart from Kylie obviously.......;)
|
Re: dr who...
pip......did you like midnight (the train one)? my mate reckons it was the best one yet, i thought it was pretty underwheming tbh....
|
Re: dr who...
Yes, i agree, a bit slow................I though most of series 4 was a bit disappointing to be honest, it was lacking in some good original monsters or baddies.............the xmas one looks like a return to form.
|
Re: dr who...
they are showng repeats on bbc 3 and watch... bbc 3 are showng the last series and are up to the last one, ready for the new one... watch are showing episodes with rose in... gets a bit confusing lol.
|
Re: dr who...
Our Sky + is full of them and Sarah Jane so i get completely lost when the little `uns watches random episodes
|
Re: dr who...
Tys not into sarah jane, watched it a few times but isnt that bothered..... do you think the kids missed out a bit with torchwood not being suitable? was all good bringing them into the story on dr who but ty had no idea who they were.

Re: dr who...
I think he would have to play the doctor differently to his charcter in the xmas episode, i know what you mean..........he`s a good actor......
|
Re: dr who...
The beginning of the end for David Tennants Doctor.........................and to be honest i thought it was very poor , i hope `The End Of Time` part 2 is a lot better it would be such a shame for David Tennant to go out on a bit of a low....:(
ps i think John Simms take on The Master steals every scene he is in |
Re: dr who...
For anyone interested in past Doctors there have been audio plays made by a BBC-licensed company for ten years and are well worth a listen.
Big Finish Productions - Home Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Paul McGann all record new episodes regularly and they're of a very high standard. Please note that they are audio dramas and not talking books. |

Well its back on saturday as much as i don`t want to like a David Tennantless Dr Who, i think i will.......apparently its very good. |

Doctor Who Series Five – First Images of the New Tardis Interior «
The Tardis does look amazing................ |
Re: dr who...
Quote:
You've got William Hartnell's police box exterior and that canopy over the console, Christopher Eccleston's console replete with hanging cables and Paul McGann's z-spring monitor. The roundels are back properly in the walls and the glass floor and walkways to other areas of the TARDIS are straight from the Eighth Doctor era books. I'm very excited, a big kid at heart! |
Re: dr who...
watching it, loving it, he's a good actor
|
Re: dr who...
Mmmmm, not sure about him yet, not a bad start and the upcoming stuff looks pretty exciting so we will see..............
|
Re: dr who...
Reece was trying his best not to like it, but i could tell he did really
|

Re: dr who...
And.............i also think that the fact the doctor did`nt know who was causing the cracks in time and what prisoner zero said about the `silence is coming` set up the new series story arc pretty well........
|
Re: dr who...
oh my god, you know too much
|
Re: dr who...
Quote:
`The Pandoric will open` `Silence will fall` `Cracks in the skin of the universe` ps i hated the revamped theme tune but the opening credits were good. |
Re: dr who...
Love it! I've watched some of the last series but never got in to watching it because of the fluctuating quality of writing. This first episode was fantastic though! :D
|
Re: dr who...
Quote:
Pity really, because that was a superb first episode, well above the standard we've had recently. |
Re: dr who...
I don't like this low brow Sci-Fi stuff.
I love it. The new Doctor will take a bit of getting used to, but then so did David Tennant, first episode very good. http://gopher65.com/images/drwho/TARDIS.gif Ooooh, look what I found:- Doctor Who Smilies! |

neither did his lordship |
Re: dr who...
The theme tune is growing on me, very very slowly.
It's just too flat, desperately missing Delia Derbyshire's original notes. |

Re: dr who...
`The Beast Below`......................not bad , second one in and we have already got the Daleks returning next week, and did anyone notice the final shot last night..? another `crack` in time.....mmmm, i wonder.
|
Re: dr who...
missed it, was getting ready to go out, i'll watch the repeat
|
Re: dr who...
Quote:
The Daleks are always wheeled out as a cushion when producers aren't 100% sure of a season going well but fortunately they needn't have worried in this instance. They did it for Patrick Troughton's first story and within two weeks everyone had forgotten that William Hartnell was ever there, much like everyone has instantly accepted The Boy now. |
Re: dr who...
watched it last night, thought it was a bit up and down in parts, wasn't as good as the first episode
|
Re: dr who...
The final episode of the current series is apparently called `The Pandoric Opens`...........well i wonder what will be coming out of there then....? Daleks(surely not again) Cybermen (possible) Sontarans(bloody terrible , hope not)The Beast(maybe)The Master(not again!)...........lets have something new and original for the new Doctor.........................................
|
Re: dr who...
Watched the first but missed the second. Don't know what to make of the new boy. Too much gurning for my liking, and the opening plot was a little contrived and simplistic. Time will tell. John Pertwee will always be my favourite.
Will watch the repeat on BBC3, 9pm Friday. Probably take a series before we can make a proper assessment. :s_gupjump |

Judging from the front cover of the Radio Times this week, the Daleks have had something of a facelift yet have not been shown as such in trailers.
Presumably we have more than one Dalek story coming up. |

Re: dr who...
:D your in for it mate
|
Re: dr who...
Well they were some good paint jobs there...
While the graphics may be good, I'm not too sure about the content or the acting. |
Re: dr who...
missed it yet again (had a valid reason this time, was watching Harry Potter) i'll catch up before the next one though :D
|
Re: dr who...
Thought it was very poor last night, i think the Daleks should be rested for a couple of series, the series has gone downhill fast and i`m not taking to Matt Smith at all.........and as for the `new` Telletubbie coloured Daleks.....well
|

Re: dr who...
nah its on before that spug

Re: dr who...
it's on tonight spug 8pm on bbc3
|
Re: dr who...
Victory of the Daleks is the weakest of the three we've had so far and I'm surprised considering Mark Gatiss wrote it. It felt very much like a setting up story for something further down the line, and those new Dalek casings look like they're ready to change into something else. They've been itching to get Spider Daleks on screen since the 90s and they've had plenty of coverage in the books so maybe this is it?
As far as Matt Smith goes, The Boy is better than I expected and I think he's making a pretty good job of it, but the writing at the moment is still very much in Tennant Mode which they need to get away from sharpish. |
Re: dr who...
`The Time Of Angels`....................so, from one of NuWho`s worst episodes ever last week we now have one of the best, i think the Angels are excellent genuinely scary and creepy, the whole story was great and well written, Matt Smith seemed a lot more comfortable as the doctor and i think that Riversong is a great character, who is she really? his wife?mmmmm, hopefully she will be the Matt smith era version of Captain Jack, i believe she is back for the series finale...........roll on next week.
ps and why the hell did the BBC put up and advert for what was coming next during the climax...shame on you |
Re: dr who...
And..................what was Mike Skinner (mainman of `The Streets) doing in it at the beginning...?
|

and there's NOTHING 'typical' about me mate, you should know that by now :D |
Re: dr who...
Was a trifle disappointed with the Dalek episode as it appeared somewhat contrived. Am informed by my grandson that the latest episode is a vast improvement and look forward to watching it on BBC3 come Friday.

Re: dr who...
I have been attempting to watch this on Catch up .. what a load of rubbish. Matt Smith is obviously a promising new actor who will do well in the future, particularly in period dramas. His assistant is crap .. not eccentric enough, and that blooming music score drives my brain cells into overdrive.
The script is definitely confusing and think I will have to ask some 5 year old to explain to me. Filming, directing has absolutely no qualities whatsoever !! Ok . don't like it ... :( |

This new doctor & the new writer are both a bit naff imo.
The storyline was extremely weak & the ending was even weaker. |

Now that we're past the 'still writing for David Tennant' stage, we're seeing improvements in the characterisation and the overarching story is building nicely. Moffat is proving himself to be a worthy successor to RTD, in my opinion. |
