Have only seen him in Party Animals, but he was great in that. I think he'll make a great Doctor although coming after David Tennant has got to be the hardest job in showbiz! Here's the first promo shot from the BBC:

Thats it.....i think David Tennant may have spoilt the role slightly, i mean how can anyone live up to his Doctor...? saying that the promo shot looks good.......

Don't think they'ld risk giving such a big part to some one just coz they know another actor, or any part for that matter. It's their heads on the line spending the licence money. :rolleyes:

Hopefully he will bring something good into his new role
The producers seemed rather excited by him
Doubt he could ever live up to David Tennant tho:(

My favourite was Chris Eccleston & I was disappointed at first when Tennant took over, but he grew on me and hopefully Smith can do the same. He's got big boots to fill!
