Well -something good has come out of the X-factor then - and a Liverpudlian to boot.
If she was second who won it last year? (Excuse my ignorance on these matters...!)

Her song is something I have to listen to a few times to get into. I know you are a big fan so you will be happy she was on. You should write her a song :) if u think she's so good!

Her song...it's ok-ish.

Good she co-wrote it, and the rest of her debut album, apparently.

Not what I'd have given her.

I was going to post I'd love to handle her.

But she might get the wrong idea, and run away screaming, in the other direction.

I do think she has a fantastic, distinct voice, and she could be up there with Nina Simone and the rest, if given the right material.

They have to sing 2 songs each this week, hard to call but I think either Janet or Misha to go to be honest.

Marcus and Little Mix in the final 2, they are doing really well.

No.

Though Father Christmas might bring it for me, if I'm a good Rindy.

Not a bad song after listening again, in the vein of Gabrielle, Tracy Chapman etc. As for handling she's got a figure you could get hold of.

On the last sing off technically Craig sang the best but not good enough to beat off the sex factor of Amelia Lily (but now I just heard it again for 2nd time - her voice is like warm brandy melting my heart) who I thought was a winner first time I heard her but Kelly Roland let of her go - luckily she got a 2nd chance.

I don't watch all the performances on X-factor on Saturday night. I watch bits you can judge how good someone is just off 30 seconds really that is what the A & R men do. That Janet Devlin; I don't know how she's still in it. I can't sit through all these renditions of songs that half the time sound crap. You can get the gist of what's going on just watching the Sunday night show and not bothering with the Saturday one - unless you like all the kareoke that is!

It isn't must see tv this year.

Marcus and Misha B are talented, but I really don't care who wins.

I won't be stalking anyone this year.

So glad Janet has finally gone!
She needed to go after forgetting her words again.

She was on Lorraine Kelly this morning whinging about her time on the X Factor.

Get a grip girl, why did you go on in the first place and if she were that unhappy speak up while you have the chance not afterwards.

No, she had to go.

Too drippy.

Plus her pale, gingery hair was going darker every week.

She'd have been black, with an Afro hair-do, by Christmas.

Yeah when they showed her best bits at the end I had forgot that she were that mousy! :D

When they all were singing the charity single were they miming?
It did sound like it but the lips were going at the same as the music from what I could see.......

I thought they were miming.

Though I think they mime, everytime they sing together on Sundays.

Or at least use that system, which makes everyone sound like they can sing.

Apparently Frankie Cokey-ozza sang on it, but won't be on the credits.

Go on, who you fingerin' to win?

My money's on Little Mix..who I do quite like.

Little Mix or Marcus.

I liked Little Mix better this week than Marcus I think he had a bit of a slow week to be honest with 2 bad song choices.

Little Mix were poo on the first song but alot better on the 2nd.

What about you?

Agree. Marcus is good. Like Prince mixed with Little Richard. This week wasn't good for him. Might go against him perhaps, after him and Craig were 'outed' by Nu Vibe.

Little Mix are good together. Like the whole 'we are ordinary girls' thing they're going with.

Good to highlight body issue pressure. Though none are what you's call chubby. I like what the girl said about standing up to bullies. The pretty girl, who got called fat.

Yeah it is good that they highlighted that as there will be alot of young girls and boys watching and may realise that no-one is perfect.

Who to go this week though?

Misha B?

If she's in the bottom two again, the judges might not save her again, fearing she's not popular with the public.

Tulisa's bullying claim might have something to do with it.

Yeah I think she will go this week, and yes the bullying claims prob have something to do with it.

Her voice aint bad but I prefer the others to her.

She has a good voice, but her styles are too interchangeable.

Will the real Misha B please step forward, and claim this week's daft hair-do, and then sing accordingly.

Re: Please can I start an X Factor thread?

Apparently the stylists lover her on the show as she will try anything and wear anything.

You can tell cant you..................;)

I think it will be good for her to strip back with the daftness and one week just be herself.

That will be hard though as every week they want to be the best "performer".

I'd have a suit made, and a matching shirt, in this toile de Jouy.

It would be worn without the tie, in the same material.

Don't want to go over the top.

Marcus is copying Bruno Mars who is a cross between James Brown/Cliff Richard and other 60's acts himself - so copying a copyist makes you pretty watered down don't you think. He looks so scrubbed and squeaky clean...

That said either he'll win it or Amelia Lily I think if she gets the right song!

I miss heard the name Little Mix at first and thought it was Little Minx which may have been a better name;)

I think the loss of Simon is the problem with the show - Barlow in my view just doesn't cut it - bring on Clarkson he'd be better! Is this show about music? Marketing Or Kareoke - it's obviously a big marketing machine for making loads of money and I think has kind of replaced Top of the Pops for the TV music event as there are no longer any TV chart shows on the mainstream 5 channels. In the early 90's there was at least 2 chart shows on TV.

It was an error they took it down after complaints and put them all up at the same time...

it's bollocks - I think they should get Sting in as a judge next year instead of Barlow! Either that or bring back Simon!

I have been reading my granddaughter's Facebook page.
She reports that she is at Wembley for the final tonight and is sitting 11 rows back behind the judges.

I won't be watching (never do) - how foolish to waste money travelling from Manchester today just to be there, especially since she is a hard up student.

Being young, gives you an excuse to be 'foolish'.

There's plenty of time ahead, to be sensible.

(Or pretend to...in many cases, including mine.)

:D

I'm afraid I'll find it hard to believe if you never did anything rash, reckless, and carefree, when you were younger.

GO LITTLE MIX!!!

They did really weel ans deserved to win, I think the nerves got to Marcus this weekend to be honest.

He will still be a star though I think as he has a good voice and will work hard.

Little Mix looked great though this weekend.

Not sure about the winners song though.............................

Found this on youtube -I haven't seen any of the X-factor.

Didn't want to comment but they seem like a pale version of the Spice Girls 10 or more years on....

Little Mix sing their winning single - The X Factor 2011 Live Final (Full Version) - YouTube

I thought the highlight of the weekend was the JLS/One Direction performance - absolutely stunning. Both have gone on from X Factor to greater things, and hopefully Little Mix will do the same.;

I knew AM was out as her vocal wasn't as good as the other 2! However do you know they have backing tracks with guide vocals. Notice how when all the other acts came on and mobbed the girls who had stopped singing the singing carried on - which means it was pre-recorded.

Also notice how this years charity single is bolstered by winning acts from previous years (JLS and One Direction) which is basically an insurance policy to make sure fans of JLS buy the song. X-factor is one big TV marketing scam to make you watch more Television, the shows are too long with too many ad breaks and on 2 nights, when before it was one; this is all to make you watch more TV and thus be exposed to more advertising! It's not a case of "Ring the Christmas bells!" but ring the cash tills! ;)

Rindy has reminded me of this thread and as the new season has started then I think we had better start up the thread again!:D

New season has started ok I have seen a couple of acts that could go through. Liked having Mel B as a guest judge! Proper northern lass that would take no messing! Not too sure about acts singing their own songs, some have been alright but a lot have been weak.

May be quiet for the first few weeks until me & G sort out our outfits and entrance to the stage each week but we will as we have done in the past be the best judes we can be! ;)
We predicted the winner last year can we do it again this year...............

So come on G any thoughts on our his and her's outfits/entrance or are we keeping it under wraps until nearer the time?

No..No...No..No...No. Keep this facile, inane, mind-dumbing, vomit-inducing garbage on facebook or some other such purile place....there should be no room for it here. Reading the very last post has given me serious brain ache.

You know what Tealeaf, i could not agree more.
On Monday night, i went to see Marillion at Manchester Acadamy, this is not the same band that made music in the 1980's, its a completly different band.

They don't have a deal with a record label, they rely on their fan base to pre order their albums before they are recorded.

It is amazing music by a superb band who are conected to their fans, not commercial pap designed to make money.
This is why they are shunned by the industry.

Well we've just found our first nut of the series.

Who we'll invite back on Grand Final night, to knock out some bad mash-up, with this season's other freaks.

;):D

I do think there's very much going to be an edgier, rockier slant this year.

More young lesbians strumming themselves off on stage, singing about binge drinking, and more Frankies, strutting about like little Jaggers....but this year they'll do better if they can actually sing.

To reflect this I'm seeing outfts that are a bit more street, than they've seen us in previously.

I bought a bag full of Whitney Houston's old clobber, the very night she snuffed it.

There's a floor length black leather A-line skirt in the bin bag, which I'm hoping to rework for yourself, if I can get the stains out.

So be prepared to ditch your bling, and get your rocks off honey.

Is Fish still in it?

I seem to remember reading he isn't.

He was a in a movie I did some costumes for.

The worst film ever made.

:o

Music?

Horses for courses.

Though some can ride both Blackpool Donkeys, and a Desert Orchid.

There were probably your hardcore Pickettywitch fans moaning on about the naffness of New Faces, way back in the seventies.

Nah, Fish left in 1988, as I said a completely different band.
I agree music is very much a individual choice, but X Factor, music........agggh give me acupuncture with 6 inch nails any day:D.

Rocky Chav look...............mmmmm we can try but what are you gonna wear?

Thinking maybe ripped jeans that hang down ya bum with the bottom of the leg tucked in your socks?
Dont know about the top half though but you will need to have the chav haircut that is essential.

Everyone will feel right at home at the minute until we scrub up for the live shows ;)

So what happened to your career?

I prefer the start of X-factor when you get these raw performances, though I wonder if some of them aren't paid to perform in a certain way - it often seems like some peformances are deliberatly stupid! Like the bird in the first show who was the Pink lookalike - and started smashing camera's up.

Anyway once it gets to the stage they start being molded it all gets a bit tedious for me. Is X factor destroying music?

Unless it's that lad, in Tulisa's home movie.

Aren't they the lads you're managing?

Used to be called The Back of Abbey Street Boys, until you made them change their name?

Cool.

Good luck to 'em.
