Please can I start an X Factor thread?

I hope I don't get slated for this but I like watching the X Factor. I laugh at some of them in the auditions and some are really terrible. I also like to see if I can predict who will win. (I'm sorry, I'm sad :blush8:)
I liked Jamie Bruce on last Saturdays show :D

Not sure about the new judges yet though.

That's fat Gary Barlow from Take That.

Not to be confused with fat Garinda Know-All from Accy Web.

My memory's excellent.

Never forget a thing.

Happily enjoys a wide spectrum of things.

Even happier, have enough self-confidence, and therefore no need to make myself feel superior, by putting others down.

At least without no good reason.

I'll happily contribute to a thread on the X Factor once the 12 finalists have been chosen and the live knockout shows start.

I refuse to watch the fixed auditions where people with no talent come on and 'shock' the judges. The judges know exactly how good or bad they are, and it is just irritating watching the charade.

I agree, until the live final starts it isn't as interesting.

Although I read they've decided to show less of the care in the community cases on a day out, in favour of showing more good auditions, which seems to be the case so far.

He aint fat anymore, I think he has aged well.

Her from N Dubz is alright aswell although I must say her new teeth are a bit off-putting. All I look at is her teeth as they have changed the way her face looks.

Re: Please can I start an X Factor thread?

Guesses for who's mentoring who this year?

What I think'll happen...

Louis - groups, which will incluse this year's freak act.
Gary - over whatever mature age bracket they decide on this year.
Kelly - girls.
Tulisa - boys.

heth 26-08-2011 21:17

Re: Please can I start an X Factor thread?

I think,

Louis = Groups
Gary = Girls
Kelly = Boys
Tulisa = Mature ones

They said that they wanted a shake up this year so maybe doing it this way then the mentors will be kinda out of thier comfort zones?

It's your fault.

A whole generation of 'baby mothers' grew up watching Oprah, and Ricki Lake.

Hence the plethora of made up, trailer trash names.

He called him 'fat Gary Barlow' at an after show party for Julien Macdonald's September '01 fashion show, at Teatro.

How we laughed.

He did famously call Robbie 'that fat dancer', after they publicly had their handbags at dawn falling out.

That's not what I said, or was refering to.

Your getting mixed up it was Noel who was married to Meg Matthews not Liam! He's not on the X-factor though which is what this thread is about.

I Have the X-factor on and I find these advertisement totally annoying - how do people sit through all these adverts which seem to go on for ever!?

It is easy to mix the foul mouthed, uni-browed Manc monkey brothers up.

I think they've both been lucky, achieving the success they have, as a Beatles tribute act.

Back to the X-Factor auditions.

It is more bearable to watch, now they've decided to show less of the freaks day out, and more of talented auditionees.

Though the editor does seem over keen on the Su-Bo shock trick.

Looks like they nick knickers off peoples' washing lines, but suprise...they've got a half way decent voice.

That novelty's becoming a little tired.

You've got to admit that Oasis did have some classics in the earlier days "Live Forever" "Don't look back in Anger!" etc

I got bored with it after a few minutues and turned X-factor off. I think it's a tired formulae now - also Simon Cowell made it what it was. It was the freaks and self decievers that made it entertaining!

No one really has me hooked as their fan...so far.

Not like Rebecca Ferguson did last year.

I think a lot of them are good, especially Misha B.

Andy makes me laugh, but he can sing. In a strange way.

I think Frankie's ego is greater than his talent.

Cockiness is ok, as long as you're brilliant at what you do, but I don't think he is.

Misha B is also one of the better ones.

Could tell last Saturday that Simon Cowell had told the judges to spice things up a bit to get viewers as alot of the arguing seemed staged to me.

Louis needs to go, he doesnt bring anything to the show apart from looking a de-ranged sod.

If Louis's your mentor you already have a massive handicap to overcome.

Especially now all the other judges are young and (quite) hip.

Marcus was brilliant when he opened the show last week.

For anyone old enough to remember, to me he looks to me like the son of Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar.

Cocky li'l git.

He thinks he's as cutting edge as a young Mick Jagger.

More like a Herman, without any Hermits.

I dont like him at all, he doesnt sing all he does is talk the song and pulls stupid faces.
If I were Gary Barlow I would be very diappointed in picking him.

Marcus all the way for me!!! :D

Besides Marcus I think Gary chose very bad acts.

Nothing wrong, playing the star, but you need the talent to back it up, and Frankie ain't got it.

Re: Please can I start an X Factor thread?

I normally get really aggravated when the public keep in that year's care in the community novelty act. Normally an act Louis has put through.

But although he looks odd, Johnny can sing, and has a quick witted sense of humour.

Definitely brightens up the show. Anticipating what he'll do next.

Re: Please can I start an X Factor thread?

I thought he did quite well last week Johnny, I thought the song fitted him perfect.

Apart from looking over his specs through-out that is the only thing that put me off watching him!!

Gary has picked some bad un's, there were plenty of other talent for him to pick.

That Craig's an odd choice.

Seems a nice lad, but a voice you'd think was ok if you were drunk, and he was singing down the pub.

Kitty is just Katie, come back to haunt us in a different wig.

Frankie is a potential Pete Docherty clone! That Johnny is ffing rubbish - with that hi-pitched screaming voice - awful - he's in the last chance saloon! He's rubbish! :dflam:

Bring back Simon!

I know where you're coming from.

He can sing though. Even if it is like a castrato skeleton.

He can hold a tune better than Wagner, or Dana's twins, Tweedle Edward, and Tweedle John.

I just hope there's not an internet campaign this year, to keep in those with less talent.

I think this seemed a bit 'engineered'...... to boost flagging ratings and add an extra dimesnion to the show. I think this has got to have been the worst X Factor ever, and it makes you wonder if it isn't time to call time on it.

I reckon this crappy programme has contributed greatly to the loss of good singers/musicians, who charted before this dirge even began, very few of the newer bands/singers seem to last these days, cos of crap like this trying to find new talent.:(

phil8715 12-11-2011 23:26

To me it's a glorified karaoke show. If any of the people were any good they would have been discovered a long time ago.

Look at bands like Status Quo they're been around for decades and they did all the usual gigging in sawdust pubs and social clubs.

Even Suebo did that pubs and social clubs before she entered BGT. She has been very successful off the back of that.

The problem is most of the people are on there just to be famous that's all it is. Bet none if those do the pubs and club circuit they basically want the fame and fortune without working for it.

Woo-hoo.

Will definitely watch next week, rather than just have it on in the background, whilst doing something else.

My lovely Rebecca Ferguson is apparently appearing on next weekend's results show.

I completely agree, I think the X Factor has definitely had it's day, it's time for it to go. It's offensive to the general public's intelligence in its present format.
I've been thinking about this business with Frankie being kicked off, I'm sure it's all engineered but on the off chance it's genuine, perhaps Mr Cowell and the owners of the show should take some responsibility, I'm sure they should have a duty of care towards the contestants to keep them safe whilst they're controlling their lives throughout the duration of the competition and making a vast amount of money out of them? Just a thought....

It's taken a while but at last you've twigged on.

Sorry folks, but for me it should never have been aired, I think you'll find it's caused more problems & anguish than it has benefited anybody. How many Hopefuls have been publicly embarrassed & humiliated because their family & supposed friends have given them delusions & pumped up their egos by bolstering their mediocre "talent" into something it's not.

Fame, fortune & the good life, have to be (in most cases) hard earned & you take your kickings along the way, sorry but that's life. As you can surmise I'm not a fan of such alleged "entertainment".

Excuse me.

One Hyndburn family have been kept in cakes for over four years, off the back of the X-Factor. Thank you very much.

Besides, we had to endure a series of Man O Man.

After it was exported over from Germany, as the best of Germanic light entertainment.

So we aren't listening.
