We now have a chat room(again) here at Accyweb. I suggest we come up with some times that we can meet on line and have a chat.....

Maybe it should be open for a couple of hours in the afternoon, evening & most of the weekend? Couldn't make any suggestions about the afternoon times (some people have to be at work!) But evenings - maybe 7pm til 9pm???

The new chatroom is magic, was a great laugh in there last night
I like the privete chat, it could save a lot of messing with im if you want to have a conversation with someone. Nice one Roy :bow8:

well the chatroom is java based, so make sure you have java enabled on your machine. Apart from that a firewall could be blocking it, so if you have one check it's settings.

Make sure your web browser is up to date. If your running windows, try www.windowsupdate.com

That can solve some problems

Nice one, I didn't even know the software had updated, it did it automatic because it isn't on our server and they only told me by email today!!! Anyway, it does look a lot better eh?!

ive been in there all day today, 1 person came in and spoke and left before i had chance to reply ( i was at work so delays were possible)

same the other night, was in there all night somone came and left before i got to say owt. Oh well mabye one day eh.

The chat room is working correctly; I and others have been in it tonight.
It appears the problem may be at your end. Roy points out a possible cause in post #28 in this thread

Just lately I have been having a problem getting into accychat, when I click on it a new window opens it then attempts to go to java I then get:-

error.java.lang.internal error. the operation completed succesfully OR, connection established after each of these however my p.c. is locked out & I have to re-start and wait for scan disk to tell me off for switching off improperly then my p.c. will start up as normal.

I have been into my control panel & onto the java set up program which tells me that I have the latest up date.

I have also tried the system file checker which tells me that my windows files are o.k. (I suppose that means they are as o.k. as they can be) but I cannot solve the problem.

I cannot access the chat room with either firefox or Windows explorer so any USEFUL clues would be helpful.

Well stap my vitals, (whatever that might mean), I tried again, actually got into the chat room before firefox decided to crash on me (thats new), then when I thought I would try Windows explorer before I could even attempt it thats when everything locked out again, I'll have another go tomorrow when my scalp has recovered from me pulling my hair out!

I use firefox and it does crash out when using the chat room ( not that I use it much ).

Oh yes I was in there the other day and had a very frustrating conversation with someone called Accy. Only after getting quite mad did I reaslise that Accy is a bot... :Banane47:

Have you downloaded it or installed it. What browser are you using etc.

You need it installed and the broswer needs to know where to look for it in order for it to work.

I have been in the Caht Room, no problem enetering and I was OK posting a message. No-one else there so could not chat with anyone and find out all the facilities in there. One thing i did not find was a Privacy Facility, but I assume that may only be available when there are more than one person in the room.
I will keep trying in the hope of meeting someone in there, but would appreciate any advice/tips on the use of the room.

Just thought I'd revive this thread,
we used to have a bit of fun in the chat room, it has gone quiet in there over the past few months.

Perhaps it's time we gave it a bit of a boost?

After all it is one of the extra bits and pieces that has to be paid for by the site so if we don't use it we could very easily lose it next time Roy and the mod's do a site update.

It used to be great in there, about four years ago.

There were about 15/20 in there every night, 11pm - late.

Laughs, tears, relationships, silliness a plenty.

I might pop in and see if I can find my sarong, and some other missing bits and pieces.

If anyone finds a size 11 black flip-flop behind the jacuzzi...it's mine.
