True, but isn't it nice when a thread is bumped innocently by a new member in comparison to a certain bird that deliberatley bumps his, my father was a reptillian nazi type threads?

What a load of twaddle! :rolleyes: There is no law or rule against posting on threads that may be older than a few weeks! Where is this thread you speak of?

There is a rule about deliberatly bumping threads just to get them to the top of the list again.

It is the unwritten rule of forums... but then again many of those same forums say 'use the search button before posting'

nah. I was referring to digging up old threads from say 4 years ago that may or not be relevant anymore.

Depends what they are about I suppose, but a newbie innocently bringing up the old posts can sometimes give a good thread new life.
A trash thread that has at last faded away being brought back in the hopes of repeating that trash again by the thread starter can hardly be classed as innocent or useful either to the site or the person bumping it.
