Install the 'User Agent Switcher' extention. You geta drop down that allows you to identify the browser as different ones.

Have you changed the ID for the whole site to IE?

It may be that it doesn't work but there are a lot of lazy web programmers who put a disclaimer up because they can't be bothered to check their work under anything else.

There may be lazy programmers out there, but I haven't got the time at the moment to try and change a site ID - I just take a deep breath, exhale, and click on that little blue 'e'!!!
