Leaving the forum

I cant discuss my feelings about the forum which im getting increasingly down about because im ONLY allowed to discuss this with a moderator yet we can have general discussions about everything else & even have a good old bashing threads but as for forum it has to be silent affair.

After having my post again deleted because i dare to mention moderator & question actions of other abusive people who are getting away with alsorts at the moment !!! I have met some wonderful people indeed on this forum & hope you will keep in touch. My only contribution i wish to make are on behalf of all the quizzers - I will still run the quiz there & chat on that - so quiz wont change unless stated on the shout box. Mick im sorry i will reply to pm when calmed down.

I've had enough of all this so im taking time out from Accyweb completely for now, this was once a great forum but unfortunately the idiots have spoilt the fun!

All the best everyone:thumbsup:

Keep in touch.

I agree Accymel. It would be a great shame if you left.I haven't been posting that long but long enough to know that you are a very popular and valued member on here.Is this because of that business on the other thread last night?Don't be driven away.If someone's trying to wind you up just ignore them and don't reply to their posts. So many people would miss you if you went.Don't go.

We know you have had a lot of stress lately due to house repairs.
Please reconsider when you have got that sorted.
We all get bad times so that we can appreciate the good times, and now you have Dave to help, things can only get better -:kiss8:

Re: Leaving the forum

I'll tell you what I say to my kids (not calling you a kid btw) - if someone's bugging or bullying you, stay away from them.

I don't know how personal some of the threads or posts have been towards you, though I did get the impression that you knew these people. However, I deliberately haven't posted on any of those threads - I simply stay away from them.

They shouldn't be allowed to spoil your enjoyment of the forum. The majority of people on here are really nice (yes, Less I am including you in that) but if you leave the bullies have won.

davo69 19-06-2007 11:27

i was told if you get hit hit back harder dont let bullies win we are a majority of good people please dont let a minority beat you

Its actually nothing to do with bullies. it's about fair play.

I'm sorry to hear you are leaving Mel. I do hope you'll reconsider and come back when you feel able to. You will be missed. You make a lot of valuable contributions to this forum.

Re: Leaving the forum

Well, I dont post much, just now and again, but I do read the posts as often as i can, and generally I really enjoy them (with a few exceptions of course). I do understand how difficult it can get when just a few cause trouble and seem to get away with it.

I play the quiz every day accymel, and while Im really not great at them, i really enjoy and appreciate them, so thanks so much for all your effort there.

I really hope you reconsider when things settle down, because i for one will miss your contributions to the forum.

All forums tend to go through these hassles from time to time, and it can be really difficult when the playing field seems to become unfair.

We've all felt like this at sometime.

I really hope it's temporary, and that you'll be back soon.

You've made an invaluable contribution to this forum, and I've learnt a great deal from you, by reading your posts.

With love, and the hope you'll soon feel you want to come back soon. G xxx

I apologise everyone. That's not the way it was meant to sound. I have no idea why accymel is leaving the forum. We had a bit of an issue going on that I think we have both decided to leave alone. I hope very much that I am not even part of her reason for leaving. I may not like what a person does but that does not mean that I don't like them. I'm sure mel is a wonderful person and a good friend to many forum users. I wish her well whichever way she chooses to decide.

So please don't go
Don't go
Don't go away
Please don't go
Don't go
I'm begging you to stay
If you leave
At least in my lifetime
I've had one dream come true
I was blessed to be loved
By someone as wonderful as you

Hey, hey, hey
Yeah

Not all the words appropriate, but you must get the drift ... x

You don't need another name to watch this forum, you don't need to be logged on.

Is there a particular reason you are concerned ?

Not that I am willing to state. My opinions seem to get me banned real fast. I have learned that to be a member of accyweb you have to cow down and be a slave to the god members opinions. Oops there I go again standing out. Sorry. Please disregard anything I just said :D:D:D:D

If another member is spoiling your fun you have every right to report it to the moderators. You seem to be asserting that Accymel is doing something why not let everyone know in case she is doing it to them ?

WillowTheWhisp 29-06-2007 06:56

Re: Leaving the forum

The title 'God Member' doesn't give anybody any extra privileges. It is only a silly title which is acheived after a certain number of posts. You will probably have seen that when someone joins they are a 'junior member' then after a certain number of posts that changes. The forum is just pre-programmed to do that.

Some of us have custom titles which we have created ourselves - that's just a bit of fun. None of it really means anything.

The only people who have access to more than you are the moderators.

Neil 29-06-2007 07:14

Re: Leaving the forum

I can't understand why some members actually try to get themselves banned. If you dislike AccyWeb then just stop coming here. If you just come here to annoy people and try to get banned then I hope a mod does it very soon.

You know that would be an extremely difficult, nay impossible, thing to do as the 'god members' or any others with more posts than 'god members' very rarely agree with each other and we have some humdinger discussions with some really good points being raised on both sides of the debate.

Those discussions that people can really get their teeth into are brilliant. What I and many others don't like is when those discussions, debates or whatever you want to call them degenerate into petty vindictiveness and childish name calling. You are not the only one who does this but it is incredibly babyish whoever does it.

Debate this! Will there ever be harmony in a forum and if not then, should we ban the people that we disagree with/find offensive/find inappropriate to join in/ don't fit in with our views? Stick that up your ballot box and see what comes out!

WillowTheWhisp 29-06-2007 07:34

Re: Leaving the forum

No not ban people because they disagree with someone else. That would be silly and end up with everyone being banned because we all disagree with someone at some point. But there is a required level of behaviour and if people overstep those boundaries then they are asking to be banned. You know what the rules are. You agreed to abide by them when you signed up.

She isn't back to stay. She comes back to read her PMs. As I read it she only posted that response to the accusation that she had joined here under another name which is not permitted by the rules.

Re: Leaving the forum

On this forum does your IP get blocked from seeing the forum completely if you are banned?
I know some forums do this so I wondered about this one? I don't like the idea that he could still be watching and he would still be able to sign up at a library or something wouldnt he :(

Re: Leaving the forum

It would be hard if not impossible to stop someone viewing the forum, as you say they can do that from anywhere.

panther 29-06-2007 13:13

Re: Leaving the forum

wouldnt know never been banned, u would have to ask mick, but you can still read the forum even if u are offline, so he probably can read it.
i thought you and piltymon might have got on with being related !

Re: Leaving the forum

why did you let him drive you away? if you put him on your ignore list you don't see any of his rubbish and I believe he can't even PM you. Effectively he doesn't exist

I knew he would be off soon - I just didn't want to have him rant at me like he was doing to others.

Re: Leaving the forum

even viewing the forum not signed in can see your ip address and block it from viewing a forum.
if you type your username on a forum that has u banned from another IP, ie the library, it can assume your that person straight away and block that IP.

Being a biological daughter doesn't mean I have to get along with him, and I'm quite annoyed I am called a troll just because I was made with his sperm. I have NEVER been banned off a forum and I have only ever stated my opinion. He always intentionally said the opposite of what you all agreed with just to start arguments. He may be a troll, but I certainly am not.

who called you a troll,? i certainly didnt!

you can view a forum without logging in and under a different IP . thus it is (as has been said) impossible to stop someone from viewing the forum.

Its also impossible to actually ban a person from an open forum like this... anyone can change there email and IP and log in using a different name.

Yeh he tried that remember and got banned again

Not you panther but I believe Mel may have been referring to me as one a bit further up.

I post what I think, not what anybody else tells me to say, maybe people don't agree with me everytime but that doesnt make me a troll lol. I'm sure peopl;e have had disagreement with every single one of you on the forums but they wont regard you as a troll.
