Buying and Selling Forum question

Can someone clarify the rules on the Buying and Selling Forum please? Most other forums I participate in require any transactions to be conducted on the forum, until a deal has been made. This keeps things out in the open and any potential buyers can see what offers have been made on the items for sale and then decide if they want to make a better offer.

The majority of deals on this forum seem to be conducted off the forum, which is surely not to the advantage of the sellers or any potential buyers?

It hasn't affected me yet, but I do think that there should be some rules governing this, if there aren't any already.

I'd prefer to see a rule where you have to state the price not use it as an auction site.

Add that to my list too. There's a lot of traffic moving through that forum now and some simple rules should be applied (if there aren't any already)

There is a rule that says they have to state a price, think it is rule fifteen in forum rules

Maybe a "READ ME BEFORE POSTING" sticky could be added to the forum stating the rules that apply to selling.

I'm glad to see that most people are of the same opinion as myself. I notice that there's a thread on there now that has an item for sale with no price and that a potential buyer has contacted the seller by PM, with no discussion/negotiation taking place on the forum. I think that this should be against the forum rules on both accounts.

I hope the Admin take these suggestions on-board, as I don't think it'd be that hard to police once people get used to it and a couple of 'naughty' threads have been deleted.

To be fair, I think the person concerned was trying to sell the pc, other members tried to start an auction with a low price, cant really say it was the sellers fault

Which is why people should put a price in the first place.
