Re: Ignore list

What is the point of having an ignore list? It's a bit like trying to read a good novel while missing out every other chapter. I suppose it's the thing a mental retard would do - in which case, possibly the mods or others could redirect those with ignore lists to those sites for the intellectually challenged.

It seems a logical way of reducing insulting comments on this site.

I wasn't aware that MargaretR made any insulting comments about people. However it's very decent of her to want to spare their feelings by stopping them reading one if she did make one.
Wouldn't it be an infringement of our human rights? After all MargaretR is excercising her choice but wishes to curtail other peoples.
Being insulting(and insulted) on Accyweb seems to be an accepted part of the fun. As long as it's done 'In the best possible taste' why should anyone take offence?

I will get Rhonda to try it out later and show me so I can see if there is a difference.

Talking of being ignored, just a slight wander, Some years ago I attended a sportsman's dinner at Bacup golf club, the firm I worked for sponsored a table the guest speaker was Tommy Docherty, after his speech he did a questions and answer session, somebody asked "What do you think about Bob Lord the Burnley Chairman Tommy" after a short pause he replied "Next Question":D

Re: Ignore list

I tried to send another member a personal message the other day, but there wasn't that facility.

Can you disable them, or am I on their ignore list?

Wasn't urgent.

Was just going to ask them to post something for me, when I couldn't, to see if that worked.

It obviously wasn't my ignore list, (Oh Garry why don't we talk anymore?), cos' I read this.
But I do seem to remember in personal settings you can refuse P.M.'s but that would be all of them not just yours.

Sometimes these choices should only be allowed once, some members are like the wind and they change just as quickly.

Less if some ones on your ignored list does that stop you pming them or vice versa

Re: Ignore list

I have had the 'visitor message' facility turned off for quite a while now, because I found messages there which had been left weeks earlier, and which I hadn't been aware of.

Garinda is not one of the persons on my ignore list. Maybe the person he tried to PM has reached the message limit of PM storage and need to do some deletion of old messages
