Looking for help

I have never lived in Accy, and only visited it once. Hoever my great uncle lived there, and died early, 35, in the 1950's. I was helped by Unclee Mick + wilowthewisp in getting infor mation on where he stayed. His partner lived on until 93 ironically, but is also dead.
I'm trying to make contac with her daughter Freda Bell of Thorneyholm Road. So far no sucess.
They lived in Grange Street, I hsave visited that area and its a bit run down, was it always like that? whatkind of area is Thorneyholm Road? m

Re: Looking for help

Hello again Martin. I`ve just checked the phone book, but I can`t see a Freda Bell living on Thorneyholme Road. I`ll try and check the electoral register over the weekend. Thorneyholme Road is a pleasent, quiet road overlooking Highams Playing Fields and running down to Accrington Cricket Ground. It`s that quiet that the local driving schools take their learners down there to practise.

Mick once again my thanks. I am advised she lives at 35. Born Winifred Hibbins 1937 according to 1837online. Had a sister Irene born 1940. You found the details of Uncle Leo living with their nmother in 1950's but I can't find it now. Can you get that stuff again too? Was down at Accy looking at Grange Street. Seemed a bit run down. Was iut always this way? Regards. M

Re: Looking for help

Grange Street wasn't always as grim as it looks today. Quite a lot of the town has gone downhill.
