Pop into o2 in Accy 7 ask for Wayne. He's a very good friend of mine, & won't rip you off.

The least expensive tend to be the online tariffs.

I would make sure that wherever you expect to use teh phone(college, mates, work, pub) has reception. Theres nowt more expensive than a phone that doesn't work where you want it to. Baxenden is rubbish on a lot of networks but will give you full Orange signal anywhere and everywhere.

Re: Phone Contracts

all i can advise is that you under no circumstances join up to te 3 network

ecveryone i know in that network gets poor reception and constanly have phonecalls terminated due to bad signal strength

they have what seem very good offers regarding free mins and texts but they are no good to you if you cant use them

my brother has been with o2 for 5 years and no problems and i have been an o2 pay as you go custemer for teh same time and no problems

Re: Phone Contracts

Yeah Wayne at O2 will be able to sort you out. The only problem I have with O2 is that if you have a problem the people at the call centre are a bit useless. They dont seem to look at your account or make any notes.

We use O2 because it's the only one that has any reception where we live.

I've been on Vodafone, Virgin and Orange in recent years and only Orange has given a pretty much 100% reception.

 Weird. I've been with 3 for years now. I've heard they had teething problems when they first started out but I've never had a problem with them. I've always had good reception and have never had a call disconected.

I pay £30 a month and get:

300 talk minutes any network
50 video talk minutes
1000 text messages
50 picture messages
£5 downloads

Re: Phone Contracts

Orange - £30 contract and you get free 8mg broadband internet, which saves you around £18/month, making your phone contract only £12/month - never had any real poor reception probs

Re: Phone Contracts

I've been on Orange for 10 years now. Never had an issue, good reception whenever I've needed it, As other have said, a £30 contract also gets you up to 8M broadband for nowt possibly offsetting your total comms bill.

Whilst on the subject of mobiles anyone any idea on how to get out of a mobile contract? My son has one with t mobile and it seems so expensive, but he has another 9ish months to run.

Re: Phone Contracts

o2 online offer much better deals than their shop, as I found out the hard way!

Im on

£20 contract
200 minutes
400 texts
+ £10 back so I get 500texts really.

... Which means if I only use 400 texts my contract is £10 a month.

I had to whinje and whine for 2years to get this :p
