Actually Mick, thanks to it's adventurous nature there have been a few names I've thought of but none that could be repeated on site! :D

The latest of which was catching it just before it went swimming in my toilet.

As for that video, yes it is very bad, perhaps to protect others from being upset by it the link should be removed?

Less, a bit of kitten/cat information. Cats will drink out of the toilet even if you have the freshest water in a bowl. Dogs are worse as they tend to drip as they run out of the bathroom.:p

Brian

I better clarify that at least "American" cats, okay maybe just Culpeper cats do this.

No, you're right, Cheshire cats do it too. They also sit in the empty bath and pat the taps in the hope of the odd drip. The bowl of water in the kitchen is looked on with disdain and is only used to drop bits of food into.

My cats spurn tap water put into their dish, but one of them will climb into the kitchen sink waiting for drops straight from the tap....other than that they seem to prefer the rusty water that collects in the top of a drain cover in my back yard....or muddy water from puddles.

Quite simply because they hate the chlorine in our tap water. Give them bottled water and they will happily drink it.

Margaret Pilkington 06-07-2007 10:53

Re: Is This Love?

well, if they don't like the chlorine, why does one of them sit under the tap and wait for drops?
I have to say that the one who drinks from muddy puddles is the 'adopted' stray cat who has lived wild for most of his (I guess) 3 or 4 years....only recently (18 months ago) being admitted into a cat loving household.

Mick 06-07-2007 10:55

Yep ours will only drink from the tap or sink never her bowl for some reason

:D mad isn't it when it's the same water? Cats are weird - but adoreable.

Re: Is This Love?

Well I almost named it today, it has decided that it is a parrot and perches on my shoulder so that it can chew my ear when it wants attention, so I was considering 'Polly'.

Now though I'm not so sure because it's gone off somewhere for a sulk. It was it's own fault, after all, even a tiny kitten can become a bit of a weight when it hasn't moved for three quarters of an hour, so when I adjusted my back I didn't know it had fallen asleep it was so relaxed it rolled straight off my shoulder and onto the floor.

The look of shock and disgust on it's face as it bounced a couple of times then it sort of went all embarrassed and slinked off somewhere trying to make it seem like it had meant to do that anyway.
:D

WillowTheWhisp 09-07-2007 12:16

Re: Is This Love?

:D I love it when they do that! One of ours took a flying leap at a chair the other day, misjudged and shot right over. Then walked away with an "I meant to do that" expression.

Re: Is This Love?

Well, I can see disaster looming over the horizon, if I don't find some way soon to screw down my flat screen monitor the cat with no name will soon have it on the floor, it likes to join in any fast moving games that I play such as pin ball chasing the ball across the screen and trying to catch it.

This was fine when it was a wee little mite but as it grows bigger it's putting more weight behind it's punches and unlike the old C.R.T. monitors this one is proving itself quite willing to move in the direction of the floor!

:p

Why dont you buy your gorgeous little kitty some toys to play with then she might leave you alone! mine love ping pong balls and sweet wrappers and toilet roll holders and my peacock feathers they like them because they are not allowed them! Or you could just buy her her own pc! then she could leave yours alone! lol problem solved.

It has loads of toys, even your dad brought a bag full around for it but it still enjoys chasing things on the pc screen and also walking over the keyboard.

It also likes toilet roll holders,in fact if I don't keep the bathroom door firmly closed it will sneak in and create it's own by taking all the paper off the one in current use, (it thinks it's the Andrex puppy).

Re: Is This Love?

I think you have to get another little kitty for it to play with then it wont need your attention all the time they can bounce off each other then!

Less ive got a question for you. Who's looking after your cat while you are away in bruges with Mick? You will need someone to feed the cat and play games on the computer so then the cat with no name will get some exercise.

No im not volunteering - i will be arguing with the consultant so wont have time.

Shame on you that you could even consider that I would go away without ensuring that it would be looked after! (erm' please excuse me while I start a thread asking about getting a cat sitter). ;)

Just to let you know, the idea had been to take 'The Cat' around to your mum so that she could look after it while I was away, after quite some time attempting to get it into a box for transportation and a severe loss of blood on my part I agreed with the cat that it was quite old enough to remain in the house until I got back and fortunately I was able to persuade your Mum to call around and check on it's food and comfort etc.

Since I have been back it has enjoyed showing it's prowess and agility by jumping in and out of the box whenever it wants!

Oh by the way, after careful consideration I have decided to name this beast after the cat in my favourite sitcom series 'Red Dwarf'.

P.S. Thanks Anne.:)

Your Welcome Less.
For a little tiny thing it has a Lion like hiss.
The first time it didn't want to let me in. The second time it didn't want to let me leave.
