Feeding the Cats
 

I have 2 feline guests for the next 10 days. My son and his wife are on a tour of Hungary with the band he plays in and their 18 year old moggies are staying with me. :wacko8:

I thought our Maddie was indulged, she eats Gourmet Gold and Gourmet Pearl cat food and Science Plan dried food, but Harvey and Felix have turned up with 24 tins of Whiskas, which is fair enough, and 10 tins of John West Tuna Chunks for goodness sake. :eek:

I know that, at home, they also get fresh-cooked chicken breast at least once a week and sometimes minced steak. They won't be getting that here. :D

What do you give your cats? Are they pampered or not?

Our cat Chloe's about 13. She eats 2 pouches of asda's own brand. Sprinkled with Felix crunchy bits.
She loves Cheese, scrambled egg, Strawberry Milk shake, Corn flakes, Shredded wheat, pizza, boild Ham and her favorite food is prawns.

My cat has Felix pouches and Iams biscuits. He rarely gets food intended for human consumption - only if I happen to not manage to eat all of my own serving of meat or fish -ie. I dont cook especially for him. Sometimes when I am trimming fat off raw meat he pesters me to death until he gets those trimmings.

I feed my cat Sainsbury's own brand pouches, she has 2 a day and inbetween she has Sainsbury's own brand dry cat biscuits. Whenever I open a tin of tuna she's there so I usually end up opening another tin for her.:)

Im feeding one of the neighbours cats while theyre away for a couple of days. He gets two sachets of felix and some go-cat dry food.

our cats also get Tuna chunks from time to time....they also get fresh cooked chicken......but from the carcasses given to us from a cooked chicken stall in Blackburn(they know I feed strays).
Other than that I buy tinned cat food from Netto....it has just gone up to £1.74 for six tins....I also buy whatever is cheap or on offer on a market stall in Blackburn.......sometimes it is the IAMS pouches, sometimes Felix. They get dry biscuits too...again whatever is on special offer.
The cats are fussy eaters at times...but then I wouldn't like to be eating the same flavour of food for every meal every day.

Last cat I had (inherited from grandaughter) .. was only fed on dried biscuits and water .. blooming hek ! he did have strong teeth and really healthy. Vet told daughter no need for anything else. Tried to give him a little bit of chicken, ham at times, but could never get the hang of chewing it and was left on kitchen floor in disgust. Think it is just us cat owners that think they need all these fancy products.

The plus side was, that on the rare occasions he did a pooh in the house, no smell, no sloppy mess, never had any incontinence problems .. :D

Maybe us humans should take a lesson from this .. LOL

Mine eats asda's own cat meat!!

He doesn't like cat Biscuits, but the dog does. The dog won't eat DOG biscuits, she will only eat cat biscuits!! weird animals I have :rolleyes:

I've got 3 traumatised cats on my hands so not much is being eaten at all. There's a selection, under the breakfast bar, of tuna, whiskas, Gourmet Pearl with chicken and Science Plan biscuits. The Science Plan seems to be favourite, at least Felix is eating a bit of it, but Harvey is on hunger strike and Maddie is having 3 mouthfuls every hour. She doesn't want the other 2 here and they don't want to be here.

On top of this, the visitors seem to be affected by nervous bladders and are in and out of their litter tray, constantly, leaving little bits of litter all over the place.

They are here until a week on Sunday. Sheeeesh! :(

Sounds like it to me. Our cat gets jittery when she goes to the cattery but is ok after a couple of days.:)
