Yes, all gas converted cars keep a petrol tank, some choose to remove the original one and fit a small one so they can use the space for the gas tank(Mainly 4x4's). My Volvo holds 15 gallons of LPG and 15 gallons of Petrol. If I was to fill both I could drive for > 800 miles without stopping(wee permitting! :D )

that doesnt have to be a problem :D

My dad had a VW beetle from new, which he eventually gave to me.
He saved money by substituting underseal treatment with the contents of the chip pan.
That car smelt of chips for the whole of it's existance

I used to use biodiesel in my 300TDI defender. It ran fine off of it and smelt lovely. I got mine from this company in Burnley Eco Bio Diesel - Homepage
I also ran on a 50/50 mix of veg oil and diesel which also worked very well, but you do have to pay extra tax on it and declare your usage. Its much easier just to use legally produced biodiesel that has the duty already paid.

Why not run on a 50/50 virgin veg oil and bio diesel? I doubt they could tell the difference if you were stopped and dipped.

Out of interest what is your car?
It says in the handbook of mine not to use it.

Also why do you want to use bio? Because it is cheaper or greener?

There is one Taxi in accy funny enough that is a diesel one that can run on gas but it was done at great cost as an experiment to show it was possible. I have NEVER heard of another gas/DERV engines car in any of teh LPG forums I go on.

Just seen this post, can't see anyone wanting to convert a diesel to gas, the engine wouldn't last 2 mins, compression ratios are totally different on gas and petrol cars to diesel ones, diesels aren't built to rev as much as petrol/gas either, put petrol in a diesel engine, compress it, ignite it and stand well clear :)
You sure it isn't a diesel/gas mix in the taxi? thats possible but doesn't save you a great deal so people don't bother getting it done

pretty sure, if you hear it running you would say it was a petrol engined one. I had a good natter with teh bloke who did it. I got the jist that he wanted to do it just to prove he could.
