Did hear an interview with a lady from the RSPB the other week, wish I could remember everything she said. Bread was the big no, no though as would just blow them up. She did say that, if you do, especially when the young ones are hatched, to throw out very small portions, as they obviously can't cope with large lumps. Also, stuck in mind was the fact that if you throw food out in the morning and still there at lunch, only the rats will finish up eating this.

Remember she suggested Weetabix was a good food for them and seed mixes. After all the RSBP do have an online shopping site themselves to buy bird trays, etc., linked with good advice.

Get annoyed when I see people feeding the ducks, they don't need it .. plenty of food in the water for them.

That's disgusting, with the amount of diseases these have

I worked in the Animal Magic in Burnley for a while and we used to look after some of the pigeons that had been hurt due to barb wiring and such

They are quite nice animals, as in would let you help when they needed it but my god they were soooo dirty, would certainly never go near them without gloves on!

I love birds, they are beautiful and very intelligent animals, but pigeons are just a pest, and certainly do not need feeding!

We put seeds out for the birds...and fat balls too...we do only seem to get the wild brids though.....no pigeons and within minutes of the stuf being put on the wall it is all gone.
Some mornings if we are a little bit behind...the birds are congregated on the wall waiting for their rations.

Birds never come here. It may be something to do with having cats.

Sorry to digress a little Panther .. but have been worrying for the last couple of hours... Emamum do not let Ty see this.

Coming back on the M65 at lunch, was about 6 ducklings in the middle lane, they did luckily scurry back to the central reservation, further up was what looked like another group, unfortunately, they had met their maker.

Feel guilty, as maybe should have rung the traffic police, but you always think someone else has done it, don't you. Please take care if you are travelling between Junctions 4/5 .. looks like could be a sort of 'duckling run' for them.
