Channel 5 reception

Where I live in Ossy the reception for Channel 5 has always been very poor,so poor that Free View couldn't pick up the signal. On Monday I actually put chennel 5 on and the picture was perfect, I swithched to Free View and the auto tune sign came up so I ran it, and channel 5 is now accessible. Anyone else noticesed the change?

Well I used to watch 5 on Sky Bernie, just because the terresrial signal was awful, but now its just like the other 4 channels, can't remember seeing that the signal has changed of anything or have moved to another transmitter

The thing is panther, I didn't do anything and suddenly from being a really crap picture its was first class and I hadn't done a thing, like trying to retune it, I just though that I may have missed some thing whilst I was in dock last week, surely I'm not the only one who now gets a great channel 5 picture in Ossy

My TV has built in freeview which I sometimes use when my Sky signal fails.
I have just checked Ch5 on freeview, and it is still a bad picture.
We are living so near each other, Jaysay, that I expected the improvement you have found.
Perhaps I should find the retune instructions for the Tv and try that.

Don't live at an end, panther I live in the middle near Margaret, on Mallard Place:D
Can't understand the difference we get in reception Margaret, my picture on both terrestrial and free view are great, although I went onto free view last night and tried channel 5 and got a "No Signal" sign, but its fine this morning. Another thing I've noices as well is that channel 4 used to be a very bad picture when it was raining, tried it this morning when it was teeming down and the picture was perfect, very strange:confused::confused:

The communal aerial was rubbish when I moved in 6 years ago, and that is why I got a Sky dish put up (brought my Sky box from last address).
I don't know how HH(and previously HBC) have the cheek to add a charge to the rent for it.

The communal aerial is on the next block downhill, and a cable stretches across a large carpark between the blocks.
It is very clear that this installation was inadequate and the rusted remains of tenant installed aerials litter the soffit boards of these flats.

My neighbour advised me recently that the communal aerial had been upgraded and he was able to get more channels on Freeview.

I only try using it when my Sky signal goes down in bad weather.

Woodnook is on its own repeater fastened to a pole up Royds Ave.

Most repeaters dont carry channel 5 yet and are not expected to until the digital switch over
