Perhaps the field hasn't been used for sports due to bad weather

if they are down the bottom of the field near to where the old Queens building was, the kids wouldnt have spotted anything, they dont use that bit for anything anymore

Is Moorhead the old Accy High School for girls? Probably a stupid question!

Re: Police Search

joaner3 - there has been more building of shools in that area since you left in '74
If you look on google earth with a search 'BB5 UK' you will see the buildings added on Queens Rd West, and even more building has happened since those google shots were taken

They may well have found what they were looking for, and taken forensic samples and photos, so have finished their work in a day.
Do you folks not watch NCIS and such like forensic tv shows?

The activity at Moorhead may well have been a search of 'newly disturbed ground' which must have not revealed any human remains or we would have heard about it by now

panther 19-01-2009 18:09

Re: Police Search

well they found a body in the sewers, so it may be him, who else has gone missing?

MargaretR 19-01-2009 18:15

Re: Police Search

People go missing every day and some never get reported missing.
I recall the body of that teenager found in a drain at Ewood - he had been missing for 15 years and would not have been found if Rovers had not bought houses for their ground expansion

Who else is missing? --- Mr Guilfoyle

that bloke Gilly who went missing a couple of years ago, the one where that other bloke was done for murder but they never found the body.....perhaps it might be him??

panther 19-01-2009 19:18

Re: Police Search

how long as he been missing?

Theres no mention of a decomposed body so I assume its 'fresh',:(

MargaretR 19-01-2009 19:24

Re: Police Search

Even if it is Mr Street in would not be recognisable if it has been in knee deep water since mid December.
The chemical content of the water can also affect decomposition rates. There is a chemical lab on one side of the street where the access manhole was entered.

I wouldn't have thought it will be much longer before he can be identified.

I would imagine that he is not fit to be identified visually by his family so the police are probably going to identify him with dna/blood tests/dental records.

Re: Police Search

yeah, true

Re: Police Search

I would think the police will be sympathetic with family members of this man and use other forms of identification to save the family from more trauma.
whoever it is may he rest in peace and the suspects apprehended and brought to justice

Re: Police Search
