I Can't Believe It's Not Butter! - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia!

ingredient list shows-
Vegetable Oil Blend (liquid soybean oil, liquid canola oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, liquid canola oil)

...those (hydrogenated, partially hydrogenated) are nasty trans fats:eek:

We made butter at nursery school, with full fat milk, straight from the cow's udder.

I can't believe it took so much churning.

It Always makes me laugh when people "Cherry Pick" information from the internet to justify their opinions! Thus relying on "Experts" who have provided this in the first place....then decrying other "Experts" who have opposing views!!...So the Expert who gives opnions on trans fats etc are more knowledgeable than those who give opinions on Butter are they??? Lol!!!....and Wikipedia of course only reports facts, and is the font of all knowledge....Not!!!

End of day opinions are opinions, i cant see why anything cant be eaten, in moderation, i just eat what i like the taste of, no matter what others say!

I do not rely on Wiki for the sole source of info.
The fact that trans fats are now illegal in some countries should be enough of a warning light for you to do your own googling.
Here is another link in case you do not wish to use your time googling

Don't go telling her the truth Taggy, or you'll end up on her ignore list just like I occasionally am, (she can't resist having a quick peek which does make posting on here a touch confusing), keep your replies to her a simple, "of course you are correct, how silly of me to disagree with one so wise!".
Then carry on eating or ignoring to eat whatever you wish.
:D

Not studied trans fats etc, and dont intend to start now. I mainly go off calories when i want to assess which products i'm going to eat and how much of. I try to eat as well balanced a diet as possible, i also go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week....not because i love the gym, but because in doing so it allows me to eat what i like...within reason...as long as i'm burning off as many calories as i'm consuming, then i dont put on weight, and i feel healthier!

I like treats now and then, and dont baulk at scoffing a large Choc Nut Sundae if i'm out, and am quite happy to pig out on Pizzas, Burgers, Fish n Chips, Sausages, Curries etc etc...i try to eat the best quality that i can find because i'm solely governed by the taste...if its good and i like it...i'll eat it!

Butter or Marg is not integral to my eating habits and is not very important to me, in the vast cheme of things, however to my taste, in ICBINB Light, ive found a product that i like the taste of, and its less than half the calories of butter, so i find it a very good alternative for me!

I'm making the same judgement calls on the "Health Police" as i am on the "Global Warming Gestapo"....quite frankly i think most of it is total crap, i will be the judge of what i put in my body, based on how i live my life and how it makes me feel. Far to many "Experts" and pen pushers on commitees have there own hidden agenda's for making various statements, none of which are truely aimed benefitting us as individuals, or indeed society in general!

This heart surgeon is saying that he is getting more 30+ year olds who need by-pass surgery........I bet most of these people whom he treats, did not eat butter, but the margarine and butter substitutes that scientists and 'experts' told us would be better for our health.........I also wonder who sponsored his research....would it by any chance be the makers of a margarine/butter substitute?

I am not in favour of banning any type of food. I beleive that the majority of us can make our own decisions on what is, and is not good for us.

Unfortunately most of my diet isn't healthy because bulk buying cheap sausages, mince and micro-wave meals stave off the hunger a lot better than buying little of the more expensive cut's that are claimed to be better for us.

Less, you do not have to pay the earth for fresh foods......but you do have to spend time in cooking them.
My guess (and it may be wrong, but I am sure you will tell me if I am) is that you opt for these cheap sausages, mince, and microwave meals because you do not like to spend time in the preparation of meals(or perhaps you are lacking in cooking skills)....so you go for the quick option.

It is possible to cook nutritious and healthier food by planning, shopping wisely, and of course, spending a bit of time in the kitchen.

Margaret I think you're probably wasting your breath :) It's a bloke thing, and the less time spent in the kitchen means more time in front of the telly with a Beer, or there's always the outdoor option of being down the Pub watching the telly with a Beer. :D:D

When moving house, if you rub butter on the feet of small children, it helps them settle in more quickly, and they are unlikely to return to their old abode.

This doesn't work with margarine.
