That was Readers Rag Shop Eunice, owd Henry used to kip in yon on a big pile o rags, never seen a picture of it though, probably not much of a tourist spot.:D

Who in the right mind would go up Back Water St as far as Readers Rag Shop with a camera and think they would get out. From the odd occasions when I went in there, there were some right rough looking b*ggers in there, and that was just the women rag sorters.

and in fact the first portable camera was invented in 1685.

Sorry no pictures Eunice but got memories of the place. As a kid i used to collect woollens and rags to make bit of spending money, Later when i was a teenager I worked for Moores Blacksmiths/Springworks farther down Burnley Road back. I went up there regular looking for angle iron off the old bed frames. There was an old man called Gilbert who hung around the place who would call to springworks for chat. Does anyone remember him.

Gilbert - little short guy always wore a hat, no don't remember him.:D;)
