Yes he had a daughter, Owd Wilcox lived somewhere in the Hornby St area, used to come to work on a push bike, one day I got off the bus at the junction of Fairfield St and Exchange St, and Wilcox wre riding along Fairfield St from Ossy, this were when it was a dirt road,
the daft owd beggar were weaving round the lamp posts, when he hit a rut and went over the handle bars, rammed his billycock down to his eyes, he were livid when he saw me stood there laughing me head off, he tried to make my life a misery for the rest of the day, always trying to fault my work, and when he couldn't he just got madder.

Worked one summer at Dutton's for about eight quid a week ... that would be in '63. But we got a healthy beer ration twice a day ... pi$$ed as a rat every day:thepint: There were only three of us working in the malt storage; but we got the beer ration for 12 men:eek: ... part of a union agreement when the malt store was automated ... and the charge hand was the only tea-total Irishman I ever met: Tommy O'Rourke. So that was a twelve man beer allowance for just two guys.:alright::alright::alright:

I worked on contract in the Lions brewing room back in the seventies, used to crease me every lunchtime when there was a raging argument about who's turn it was to go and get the Jazz, the good thing was they allowed us 2 pints a day whilst working there:):):)
