As well as Chorley cakes already mentioned, you could add Eccles cakes (greater Manchester now but still Lancs.)

have to say I don't ever remember it being sold in chip shops , .... bit of a wander ... Mr Heffernan , a teacher at Gt. Harwood Top Council school (days before Norden) think he later taught at Rhyddings had a tripe shop in Arrod run by his wife , a couple of doors up or down from Redmans on Queen St.

Interesting that you mention that because i'm sure that as a kid i drank Iron Brew (thats how it was spelt then) round here, and i'm certain it wasn't by Barrs either, but i cant find any reference for Stocks Iron Brew, i do remember it being more flavoursome than what we drink today though!

And to finish off- of one Uncle Joe's Mint Balls and a Fisherman's Friend, washed down with Vimto, all of which are made in Lancashire.

There are at least 4 types of Lancashire cheese: Crumbly, Tasty, Creamy/Mild and Blue. If it isn't made in PR3, then it isn't Lancashire cheese.

Of beers , there's Thwaites', Moorhouses,Holt's, Pheonix, Hyde's - all made in Lancashire. All available in bottles.

I can't find any reference to Stocks Iron Brew either but my mother used to sell it back in the 1960's and 70's. It didn't have the same label as the rest of the Stocks pop but was definately theirs. The label was much smaller and had a picture of a blacksmith or a forge and I'm sure said that it was created in the 1870's. I always understood that Barr's had to call theirs Irn Bru because Stocks had the trademark on Iron Brew. I think they sold it to Ben Shaw's when they closed down in Accy because I've seen the odd can of it since although I have to say I've never tried the Ben Shaw's stuff.

Burton's biscuits in Bl;ackpool make Wagon Wheels and others. There's also another biscuit bakery but have forgotten the name. Near Kirkham there is Fox's biscuits.

As well as Eccles and Chorl;ey cakes there are Goosnargh cakes.

Goosnargh is famed too for the quality of the ducks reared there.
