a hump with a hole

Opposite Antley Methodist Church, where all the houses etc have been demolished there is a mound. I don't mean the newish looking mound. In the side of the mound there is what looks like an old bin hole but it's actually into the side of the mound. It's obviously quite old and has brick sides and what looks like a lintel. I haven't been up close, we've just been by in the car.

It reminds me of the old air raid shelters that used to be outside Peel Park School and I wondered if anyone knows if it's anything interesting or if in fact it is just an old bin hole.

Re: a hump with a hole

It's further on than that, near that roundabout where the old new houses are.
