Re: Unlocking a car

Phone the Police, they have a kit to get into most cars or try yourself with something like a coat hanger in 1 of 2 ways
1 - pull the button up if its on the top of the door moulding
2 - you got to try and get hold of the metal rod that the interior handle is fastened too, put a slight hook on the coat hanger/wire and go straight down the inside of the door (down the side of the window, just force it past the rubber seal)to the same depth or just lower than the lock, rotate 90 degrees and pull upwards and hope you grab it, keep trying till you get hold of it, you might end up bending the rod but better having to straighten this than replace a window

Re: Unlocking a car

If you have breakdown recovery insurance - try using it.
Mechanics have devious ways of opening locked cars.
I once locked myself out of a VW beetle and was shown a devious trick via the quarterlight.
The police hold bunches of carkeys - so if you know the keynumber - try them.

Yeah got it sorted, had to put wire through window and managed to press the electric window button, luckily the keys were in the ignition so it worked

Re: Unlocking a car

You should have phoned Simon, he may be the ugliest locksmith I have ever seen but he can get into cars so quickly it would scare you. He picks mine in about 10secs through the key hole so he turns the alarm off at the same time

Doubt they come out for that sort of stuff nowadays. 15 years ago you could probably find a copper to help out, you're lucky if they come out for a murder case these days.
