I'm wondering about how much your own personal perceptions/prejudices of a candidate affects your vote, (Blazey says she is a Conservative but would she vote for a Conservative if the candidate was a fat 20 stone woman ?) likewise , Greg Pope must have got a big boost since he is a 'local lad' , think what I am asking is .. do you think the same numbers who voted for Greg Pope would have voted the same if say Jack Straw had been the candidate instead ?

I have never had a lifetime allegiance to any political party because they all have the same cracks, in different guises, that reduce them.

I have Socialist leanings but my Socialism is not the stuff of New Labour. I have Liberal ideals, to a degree, but they are not Liberal Democrat. I concur with some Conservative thinking but it has been sullied by the Thatcher years.

I would love to vote for the candidate, on his or her own record, rather than the party. Maybe the Pensioners' Party can field such a body?

Its stupid to waste a vote, and not voting at all or voting for the bnp are both a waste of a vote.

I dont expect many people vote for bnp though, just the idiotic ones who think they stand for something achievable.

they cant bring any good changes to the country, they'd only drag it down into the gutter.

As more and more legislation-making now takes place in Brussels (or Strausbourg) and this process is being accelerated as the government surrenders more and more of our hard-won independence, the choice of who to vote for in Parliament is becoming increasingly irrelevant...in fact, you may as well vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party and I may well do so at the next election.
