It must be down to poor installation. You need a clear line of sight to the satellite. Seeing as the sat is more than 22000 miles away the height of your dish does not matter like some people think. Clear line of sight thats all you need.

Re: Would You Put Up With Poor Service

I pay a weekly rip off charge for a terrestrial ariel, and paid for the install of my own sky dish.

When I moved in it was pointed out to me that a cable box was present in the lounge. I choose not to use cable because of several unfortunate service lapses in the past at my previous address. The worst was when service was accidentally terminated for 3 days one christmas.

There is no communal dish in this block - don't know if others have it, but I don't think so, because there are a few dishes about here.

When I asked whether it was OK to put up a dish I was told to place it 'unobtrusively', so that is why it cannot be in the best position possible.

Can you see the moon? That’s around a quarter of a million miles away.

What about the sun? Can you see that? That’s about 93 million miles away.

The nearest star is 4.3 light years away and I assume that you can see the stars, clouds and light pollution permitting.

Not much wrong with your eyesight if you can.
