I think Mr Almond taught wood/metal work - he was a hard b*stard.

Yep most of the gals in my geography class fancied Bentley - could never understand why they preferred a smooth guy who drove a mark III escort over a spotty faced geek who rode a BMX!

Also remember nearly giving Miss Nelson a nervous breakdown in maths, making Mr Bold de-tour from the lesson to tell us stories about throwing sodium into the school fishp-pond and killin all the fish in dchemistry class.

Listening to Mr Law shouting "don't bark at me boy!" in P.E.

Placing bets on whether Mrs Alveston (Mrs Old-vest-on obviously) was a carpet-muncher or not in Arts n crafts

Does anyone remember a supply teacher called Mr Okinashi or someat that used to give chinese burns and show you how to give pain on pressure points with your little finger?

Sister Margaret Mary the physcopathic nun?
Miss Neary the ex-nun bible-bashing r.e. teacher - once got thrown out her class for asking if she was a virgin.

Mr McAloon made you pick up litter till your fingers turned blue.
Mr Stanwick - liked to take young boys on "boating" trips (fnarr fnarr).

Hope these names spark someones memory.

The rest would stop at the woods behind the shops at fern gore and
then follow me when i came back.John Law said he would give a biscuit
to whoever beat me but he knew he wouldn't have to.

Wonder wot he's doing now? I met the old head-teacher, the one after Mr Cassidy, his name excapes me, on the train the other week and he had some fond memories of the Carmel.

Well someone had to.

You went from being 11 to 26 ? You must have been the oldest kid on the block ??? It must have been easier dating the teachers though.

I went to Holy Family, I was there when it changed to Mount Carmel and the uniform went from being a reasonably cool gray and black affair to the poo brown one.

I remember virtually all the teachers mentioned on the thread but my form teacher was Miss Wojtavic (or however the hell you spell it). I seem to remember she had very bad breath.

I also have terrible memories of Mr Mulderrig. He was a swine but I saw him in Accrington town centre just a couple of days ago and he looked nothing like as terrifying. Time does funny things. Did you know he shaved his head for the part of the King in The King and I at Holy Family and it never grew back. That's why he was bald. GIT!

I saw Miss Wojaanowski in a film recently, she played 3rd Troll from the left in Lord Of the Rings.

I had Mrs "sharknose" Bradshaw for English though, not her. Anyone remember Mr Cunningham who taught physics - he would practice Karate in the gym at lunch times and scare all the pupils sh*tless.
