In the 1951 Barrett's Directory, there are 9 Briggs:- Frank 8 Lime rd: Fred 116 Avenue Parade; herman 8 Marsden St; John 6 West Crescent; Joh 32 Plant5ation St; John 33 Lime Rd; Claire Infant St; Robert Milnshaw Lane & Heywood rd; I don't think any of these are the Tommy IO was at St John's with late 1940s. He was known as Banana Tommy because his mother got ()wartime) stamps to buy him extra bananas to sup-plement his diet.

During the war, he had a blood deficiency which meant that his mother got extra coupons to buy bananas for him. Thus he got called Banana Tommy. He lived down Castle Street I think. I thought he had died quite young. A very cheerful lad.

I was amused to read this as banana tommy was my dad.

Unfortunately I'm unable to help marky mark with his search as Im nit related to any other briggs' that I'm aware of.

Bob refers to a Herman Briggs .

There was a Herman Briggs who lived on High St Ossy .

He was related , I don't know how , to Tom Briggs , my dad's brother-in-law , who lived on the small , raised terrace at the corner of High St and Fielding Lane .
