Hi all,

Stumbled across this site! Yes, I left Moorhead in 84. In fact, I am sure Lindsay Ormerod was in one or two of my classes.

Here are a couple of other teachers I remember. Madame Smith (French) how could anyone forget her! Miss Goodyear (Music), went to Johannesberg, I think, she was gorgeous!

I also remember that awful day the chap got struck by lightening and his mate was blinded for a few weeks too.

Mr Cauldwell, how could I forget him? I remember his first day about 1980. He used to pick on Safraz Ali and grab his ears then bang his head on the blackboard! All for a laugh of course! Bet he doesn't get away with that now.

Left Accy in 89/90. Good to see this site.

I remember it was Gary Robinson and Mark Newson was injured. I can remember a few people being interviewed in hospital beds on News at Ten!!! Never sprinted so fast that day across the plateau. Bad memories and a sad sad day. Was a 1st year when it happened and Mr Clayton taught us History straight after, then we all had to go in the main hall for our parents to pick us up (if they could contact them) I had to walk home..

lettie 12-06-2005 07:10

Re: Moorhead High School

I was also a first year. Was in Chemistry with Mr Edwards straight after it happened. I remember having to wait in the hall afterwards but I also had to walk home because my parents were working. I ran all the way home but wasn't the only one...

What year did it happen? I'm sure my Aunty Kelma has told me the story and said that she was at Moorhead at the time, I think she left in '81 or '82.

Mr Williamson Mr Williamson Mr Williamson....Hmmmm.... When i hear that Ba%!rds name i get mad inside..... Didnt he used to make kids kneal on pencils, Thats right he did! I saw that once, but it never happened to me. He was always nasty towards me, one day he was shouting at me because i couldnt draw and i said something and he shouted "dont back chat to me" and picked me up by the ear. All this because i CANT DRAW. Im surprised i havent heard any stories about him getting the holy crap beat out of him because that guy deserves it bigtime.
Not all days was bad at that school though. Mr mchale and Mr dyson was my favourite teachers, so down to earth.

I was there 89-94 and if anybody reading was there then they may remember an english teacher called miss elliot. She was an extremely nice person( plus she let me listen to walkman in class ), Some lads would mess about in her class and say obsenities to her. Eventually she left work at moorhead i think it was in 94. I felt sorry for her, such a nice person brought to tears every day by stupid kids.

Does anybody remember mrs cruise...Man she was EVIL she made us write lines for 2 years in music class because of 2 idiots( i forgot who )....she used to get them all and tear them up in front of your eyes.....now thats education for you!!

I too went to moorhead, until being asked to kindly leave in the second year, and i can honestly say they were all bas****d`s, robinson (history) especially the guy used to beat me every lesson, turned into a personal war beat me for not doing homework, didnt do homework out of principal and took another beating, i can honestly say now that i am all "growed up" (supposedly) that the majority of teachers at that school in the early eighties did the same thing now they would put the iraqi war crimes trials to shame, that said I did have some good laughs with mates, every monday and tuesday my name would be read out in the "debt book", I once asked Simpkins the guy in charge of detention "why dont you just give me a season ticket and have done with it"?, his gobsmacked answer was to give me 3 more detentions, 3 more i didnt bother going to.
the only thing that school taught me was how to rebel more

Re: Moorhead High School

Wow, feels so long since I left Moorhead, yet I only left in 2000 ^_^.

It was a good school when I first started going, but then it seemed to get worse (but at that time I was going through the rebellious stage then and everything seemed $@&# then). Probably didn't help having Mrs Parr for my tutor, we didn't get along that well for some reason (which had nothing to do with us disliking each other *innocent whistle*).

Still I remember some funny times from then, like the time Mr. Caudwell made one lad apologise to the light switch because he'd hit it turning it on :D. Wonder if he still keeps his family of bricks? ^_^

My crowning moment (or perhaps not... I still have the video evidence of how bad it was :D) was when me and my friend rounded up some poor peop... erm, willing volunteers to act out a scene from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy for the talent contest. Needless to say I don't think any of the students understood it (they were probably waiting for the singing and dancing groups), but at least some of the teachers understood it and got some enjoyment out of it ^_^.

looking for christopher seymour, left in 1984

Hello can anybody help me. I'm looking for my dad.

I'm looking for Christopher Seymour, a moorhead leaver in 1984. He was tall with blonde hair as far as I know and I haven't seen him since I was very young and no longer remember what he looks like. I would be very grateful if nobody could actually tell me details of his whereabouts, if anyone has an old class picture of him so I have an idea of him.

I'm 17 years old and I have no idea who any of my other half of family are. I really hope somebody can help me in my search. I also had someone tell me they vaguely remembered a chris seymour in the boy scouts at the age of 11 or 12. does anybody know if this is true?

Please pm me or post on here.

Im surprised they fit them all in the Cromwell building although the youngsters will not have the experience of walking to & from Queens building-Cromwell building via the link path :D if you was lucky to stay on the path & not be pushed into the mud LOL, certainly not great in the pouring rain getting soaked through:rolleyes:
