Annie Blight of Ossie
Miss Annie Blight ( 1873-1968) was a headmistress in Ossie -possible at West End School - until retiring in 1932. She died in a home for the blind in Blackpool. I am trying to help a descendant piece together her life. Anyone help?

With little information about Annie Blight, being able to search through the Census Years, the only one's that I could find, that looked like would fit and only a guess is as below. Annie Blight Born 23 December 1872, Calstock, Cornwall Baptised 16 July 1873, Calstock, Cornwall 1881 5 Shaw Street, Habergham Eaves, Burnley, Age 8, Scholar 1891 Castle Street, Dalton, Ulverston, Age 18, Pupil Teacher 1901 School House, Church Lane, Graveley, Hertfordshire, Age 28, Head Mistress 1911 47 Stanmore Road, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, Age 38, School Mistress EL School Died 1968, Blackpool, Aged 95. Annie was living with her Mother who died in 1911. I think after her Mother died she moved here to take up the new post of Head Mistress at West End School which opened 16 March 1914. You have put an enormous amount of time and work into this, for which I thank you. I shall contact the enquirer. She has been in touch with the library and been sent an Observer cutting about the opening of the school.

I've had a PM from SimonB about this thread, which I posted 3yrs ago. I have no recollection as to why I posted it.and nothing on my computer about Annie. It is just possible that Accrington library have a record of the enquiry.
