Julius or Julian COBB

I am seeking to locate Julian or Julius COBB, who was a tailor in Blackburn in 1951 but who is thought to have moved to Accrington after that. He may have taken a pub. He died in 1963. Any information on him?

He was a tailor. This had me in stitches until I cottoned onto it that you were giving me the needle, Margaret. Anyway - thanks for posting onto my thread.

Might someone enquire at the cemetery office for me to see if Mr Cobb is on their books.? Even a date of internment/cremation would be helpful.

Thanks Retlaw. I am trying to build on that inflammation. Good to know that he was Julius, not Julian.

What I would like is an Accrington address - thought to be a pub, and a date of death in 63. I appreciate your work on it.

Re: Julius or Julian COBB

Accrington library have told me that he had the Antley Inn in 1961. They called him Julian. I wonder if that is what he called himself as he didn't like Julius?

Am I right in that the Antley is closed? Is it still standing.

Later in the 60s, a mate of mine took the pub. On talking over, he noticed that the cellar was swarming with cockroaches. He phoned the area manager for advise - " Get some lads to find you at least one frog and put it down there " He did and was not troubled further as the frog (s?) ate them all.
