True the south has better weather, my geraniums in Clapham lived outside for 17 years and never saw frost.

Summer in the North though, our skies are blue as opposed to wee-wee yellow you have down in the South East.

Voted this morning. Postal votes are crap - that has already been substantially proved. You can always ask for a proxy vote, if you have difficulty getting to the polling station. HOWEVER, what a shame for all those poor soldiers serving in Iraq who have been denied the right to vote, have effectively had their franchise removed, and who will therefore have no say in something that affects them quite directly. Wonder why?

Pendy that is a very good point about the total cock up with the overseas armed forces votes, outrageous.
Like you said I wonder why that was allowed to happen?

You only get wee-wee yellow skies in Clapham.

In Tunbridge Wells they are definitely blue (like now!)

Although I have been and done my duty I can't help thinking of a quote from someone in the past. "I voting made any difference politicians would have banned it years ago."

It appears that the Post Office/BFPO system didn't send out the papers till last week, too late to return
Meanwhile, in the Borough I'm where I'm now sat, postal votes went up from 2000 in 2001 to 37,000 this time round.

I've spent weekends in Tunbridge Wells and long hot Summers resulted in definite yellow skies, perhaps the Clapham smog blew in from the North East!

Rindy's weather report for Lancashire-
Sky- a beautiful azure blue, temperatures still in the 20's. Oh, and there goes a piggy wiggy flying over the nature reserve. ;)

I'm with you on that one fireman.

I went to vote this morning.......took my trusty pin.......closed my eyes and stuck the pin in..........my own blooming thumb.
Hope they don't mind blood on the ballot paper!

I don't think it will make much difference to the outcome. (me voting, I mean)

Of the people who took part in the poll, just over 78% said they were going to vote.

Either we aren't a very good example of a cross section, or we are more interested in politics than non Accy Webbers.

First results just coming through, Labour holding but with a reduced majority, but they lost Putney back to the Consevatives.

Interesting but hardly rivetting, don't think I'll be up all night like l was in '97.

Turn out in Hynburn was just under 59%.

An increase in turn out of just over 1%.

Labour hold , but with losses along with the Conservatives, and gains by the Liberal Democrats and the BNP.
