Re: Nhs Dentist
I don't know Ianto. I'm not hoping it will come to plastic teeth(shudders at the thought)......although it is more than 40 years since i saw a dentist...I still have a fair few of my own peggies.....they just need a bit of maintenance......or that is what I am hoping!

Re: Nhs Dentist
Do you know Margaret, false teeth were the cause of my first marriage break up, I got up one morning and picked my dentures out of the 'pot' and the damn things didn't fit, they were her's she had the cheek to put them in the same 'pot' as mine, yuck.

Re: Nhs Dentist
Yes, well........ I went, which means the hero's head won over the cowards legs. And what do you know? You guys were absolutely right. The people who run the Dental unit are diamonds. That isn't to say that I didn't have the collywobbles.....I DID, but they took time to put me at ease and made me feel like they understood how scared I was. I didn't have anything done other than a general inspection. I have to go back next week...they are going to get Howorths Scaffolding gang to help out....yes there is major work to be done......but the biggest part of a long journey is the first step...and I've made that move. I'm going to give myself a putty medal!

Re: Nhs Dentist
Thanks to all of you for your encouraging words and to Cashy and mez for their gifts of karma........I have to go back next monday for a 'scale and polish'...hope they don't use an old rusty brillo......then in the following weeks the real work will be done...and maybe even a hospital visit will be on the cards as I have a wisdom tooth root which looks like it will need dynamite.
I'm sorry not to be able to write a blog of the events....you would have p'd your pants laughing.....because some of the event was very funny. I will still have the collywobbles when I go on Monday, but I now have some strategies to help me cope......and my husband isn't one of them....he was as useful as a chocolate teapot! |
Re: Nhs Dentist
Just a little update....... I had the scale and polish, thought to be honest there was far more scale than polish about it. A week later I went back and had what the dentist termed 'a gentle root extraction'........I'm not quite sure I would have called it that, but I survived.....and today I went back for the final part of this round of treatment.........5, yes five root extractions.......with I'm quite proud to say, just local anaesthetic........so I am a bit 'down' in the mouth.......but I can look forward now to just the six monthly checks........YIPPEE. Thanks for all your support over the last few weeks it has been an amazing help. Oh, and if David the dentist is reading this, or Katrina the dental nurse....YOU were both MAGIC!
