Well done Margaret. I was wondering how you got on and somehow missed this thread. I recently went for my first 6 month check up after having my treatment. I was dreading it but got away with just a scale and polish.:D

Yes, Lettie....I am told I was very pale and shaky when I came out having the roots extracted.......and i did have a pretty sore face for about a week, but it is all done now.....I just have to keep going for the check ups....and I think I can cope with those now.

Glad you got through it, Margaret. Take care of your teeth. I don't think people realize how many health problems are caused by neglecting the mouth.

I have always brushed my teeth regularly......and apart from not visiting the dentist...looked after them. Ok, Now I know that probably sounds daft, but the dentist I saw for my recent treatment said that I had looked after them very well. My phobia of dentists stems from the time of School dental clinics.
I was held down by two very buxom dental nurses while a dentist drilled and filled my teeth. This left me really scared and so i hadn't seen a dentist for 40+ years. I had some broken teeth, which if I could have got out myself I would have done...but anyway I am all fixed now......and just have to go for the regular check ups.
I was so ashamed of the state of my teeth, but not anymore.

Sounds positively gruesome!
