Re: Two hours of my life wasted

I read the review of the book in the Sunday Times and it said do not buy this book under any circumstances.

Red rad, bull, of course I bought it.

The gimmick was cheap, but very effective. After reading page after page about the vacuous life of these empty people, and you're bored stupid with the lists of what his friends were wearing, the graphic, sadistic violence really was like an almighty punch in the face. Like most movies it wasn't quite as good as the book, as your imagination is replaced by that of the director's.

All Bret Easton Ellis's books are worth a read, in my opinion.

It is the only book of his that I have read!

I would like to spend more time reading but unfortnatley I do not get the time!
Not for fiction at least!

Would his other books make just as gory a film as American Phsyco?

Re: Two hours of my life wasted

No his other books are still about the empty lives of the American rich, still good though.

Slightly off the point I know, but if you really want to waste two hours of your life try Wanadoo chat!

You will feel your time to be totally wasted!

Though there was one more than worthy exception!

Would they indeed?

I personally can not cam chat! Which is a shame. I should imagine your dance would be one worth seeing.

the new war of the worlds was a severe let down and to be honest the cd musical gave more of an impression of action

to me the film was severely lacking action especialy as it didnt show any fighting between the military and the aliens , granted they showed a few tanks going up a hill and getting destroyed but with todays effects and big budgets they could have had jet fighters taking on the aliens and showing a few dogfights etc and maybe some battle cruisers getting wiped out at sea

naturaly of course the papers gave it amazing reviews and almost everyone agreed because it was war of the worlds and oh it had tom cruise in it soo it must be good

ive seen bigger wars in my back yard between my tub of salt and the local slugs , never mind the world

oh while ive got my grumpy head on

every single batman film totaly blew chunks apart from the lastest effort batman begins which is how batman should have been filmed from the begining

I fell asleep in the flicks during the first of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I had just come off nights and not even Sean Bean could keep me awake...:D

A few years back we used to run a video club at the place I worked, staff would pay £1 a week into a kitty,we had a list of payees who would each have a turn at choosing a video to buy.All the group would have the video to view then afterwards the person who picked it kept it,then the next listed person would pick a video.
This worked well until the fateful day someone picked The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.Without a doubt this was the most boring unwatchable film ever made,it stopped the club in its tracks, never again was this person to pick a title. If you read this David, repent.

Horses for courses.

Mani walked out, but I loved the talented Mr Ripley. I've seen it four times.
