in my opinion the industry could do with a lot more Tony Wilsons!!

No just the guy who wore the suit, and owned the said bands record labelm making him ooldes of dosh.

Nothing against the geezer, but he's not at total altruist.

No Will won, Ggggggggggggareth came second.

Will did this with his eyes when the result was announced, beating the favourite-

Rindy streetches eyes wide, looking more like lovely Will, than the rubbery faced Anthony Wilson.

actualy the label you're talking of, Factory records, all the money made from it went straight into his Manchester nightclub where he lost a lot of money due to no one buying drinks (because of the escalating drug scene at the time) and forking out for big name DJs etc.

i know what you mean though he is no way straight but he does run his label for a lot of the right reasons, looking for great new bands in unthinkable places instead of owning a conveyor belt running off thousands of Kylies.....shudder shudder

The Hacienda was going for years before the E-scene started as well.

Again I was there.

Re: X Factor

ah the Hacienda - couldnt remember the name; came up with some rather silly ones haha.

i know it was there a while before the whole Madchester thing, just saying that he lost a lot of money in the place.
i just admire the guy for finding one of my favourite bands (Joy Division) and for the whole ideaology of Factory records, "the artist owns all their music and publishing rights and everyone else can f**k off" in his own blood! bonkers!

We won't fall out, as we basically agree again.:)

Bit worrying.

Re: X Factor

wasnt too great, Steve Coogan trying to be Tony Wilson and coming off as Alan Partridge yet again!
Ralf Little appeared as Hooky from Joy Division which was great!
the hallucinations in the Happy Mondays section of the film were hilarious, at one point Tony Wilson 'saw God', and of course - it looked exactly like........Tony Wilson!
all because of some great gear Shaun Ryder brought back from the bahamas
haha
