Why dont they teach proper?
 

im 16 now and in my final year at school and im ashamed to say that i didnt know where the river thames were (i think thats how its spelt) i got told off a 6 year old boy!! they dont teach anything anymore like when my dad was in school.. when a teacher is absent they get supply teachers in and they are clueless about the subject. i mean whats the use of that especially when im so close to doing my gcse's and when we complain to the teachers they just ignore us how do they expect us too pass an exam with a art teacher in maths

and then they'll only complain when we get crap gcse's it happened to my sister she did bad in the subjects she had mainly supply teachers for her classes.

I had the same last year (which was my final year) at Mount Carmel....teachers dropping like flies taking afternoons off all over the place while they were sending letters home telling parents of their concern for students' attendance! absolutely appalling...but dont worry mel, after all that I got 11 out of 11 GCSE's at A-C so they aint that hard!! :D

Yeah, that does sound pretty rediculous. I did my GCSE's last year. The teachers at Rhyddings were really helpful and worked really hard for the students.

Overall I got 13 GCSE's.

It's "was" not "were". And Thames should have a capital "T". While I am pointing out errors it's "didn't" not "didnt". My English is not very good but I would expect someone working towards exams to be practicing your punctuation and spelling whenever possible.

If students aren't getting continuous support from their teachers, and are having to rely on staff not qualified to teach in a subject, that is wrong.

As for the river Thames, I probably knew all about that from an early age from reading books out of school. Even children's programmes in the 60's/70's like Blue Peter were full of interesting facts.

I doubt you could get 11 GCSE's at grades A-C. Actually; if you got one of those oh so special goldfish you bang on about to tutor you.....you could pull it off.

Perhaps her lack of punctuation etc, just proves her point?
If her teachers were up to standard maybe her English would be as well?

That, Less my friend, is the only reason I posted it. I don't usually comment on peoples mistakes, unless they are funny :D, as I make enough myself.
