Sensible but enforceable?
 

I spotted the other day that Ossy mills send out a guy each morning to put cones along Moscow Mill street to stop parking. Whilst I agree this is a very sensible thing to do or it would be bedlam on there what chance do we reckon they would have if someone decided to ignore the cones and park anyway. Shouldn't HBC be helping by applying to put single yellows down or something?

I think it's so residents can park infront of their own houses. If single yellow lines were introduced it would mean that they couldn't park in front of their own houses all the time, unless they organised a residents only parking scheme which would cost HBC/us some money.

It seems to work quite well, and provides a jobs for the cone/parking attendant people.

Oswaldtwistle Mills have just applied for planning permission to turn the land which used to be the petrol station into a car park. It's already being used as a car park for staff but not public.

It looks like residents parking scheme's are on the way to Hyndburn, so Ossy Mills might be one of the first.

residential parking what a wonderfull idea that is

some moaning person gets to govern a piece of road outside their house so that no one else can park there for a few hours yet the person with residential parking can freely dump their car outside somone elses house despite not likeing it happen to themselves

the way i se eit is as long as you have road tax and there are no double yellow lines etc people should be able to park where the hell they like

i swear people with residential parking turn into the local nazi squad , an ex girlfriend had an ill elderly grandmother who had a lot of difficulty moving about and when she was taken to hospital there was no parking spaces on teh carpark so they parked on the road next to blackburn royal infirmary.despite there been plenty of room some selfish idiot rang up the trafffic warden and when they returned to the car they had a fixed penalty.the person who reported it had watched the elderly lady been removed from the car and it was very clear why they chose to park near the hospital :mad:

people park outside my house all the time and walk into town and although it irritates me as i like to have my car near the window so i can keep an eye on it i have no more rights to park my car there than anyone else who has a car that is taxed

if there is a genuine reason for people to need their car parked outside their homes then they should get a disabled parking space designated to them and if they dont qualify for one then they should shut up and walk to their house from the car like everyone else has too

I dont think Accrington needs permit holder parking, there are loads of parking spaces in Accy centre people shouldn't need to park outside the houses that are close to town. Also you have to pay to park outside your own house with permit holder parking.

A lot of them might be too scared to use the Arndale one in case they are mugged.

actualy since this has been brought up

the arndale center only has cameras on one floor , i forget which one it is now but an employee inside told me

so just leave your car where the employees do

Now that IS interesting because when I was mugged we asked if we could see the video from the security camera but they waffled about giving it to the police and for some reason although the police knew who it was they couldn't do anything about arresting him.

I doubt now that there ever was any flippin video. :mad:
