retired after living in spain, came back with missus who was terminally ill,after that realised pretty quickly that all i can earn at my age is MINIMUM wage, so thought sod it. just make a crust off the internet now.;) which is amazing cos i,m bloody useless with computers.:)

I am a mum and wife, i look after my 18month old Callum in the day then when my hubby comes home i go to work. I do two hours a night mon-fri cleaning offices in the muller youghurt factory(and get loadsa freebies!!)

Some 15 years ago my heart forcefully reminded me that working 12 hours a day 6 days a week had to be cut down or else. Trying to drag up a teenage girl and boy as a single parent and living on the Roman Road Estate didn’t do me any favours. After which I was told to go home and rest – for the rest of my life. I sort of listened for a while until boredom got the better of me even though I got involved with the Amiga computer and I went to college part time for a couple of years just for the hell of it.

I got another reminder and that convinced me that I should arrange my life into a no stress mode. In a nutshell I got medically retired before my time and take all my pills like a good boy. Since then I get up when I have finished sleeping, eat when I’m feeling peckish and if that afternoon overwhelming tiredness creeps up on me I settle down in my recliner rocking chair and doze for a couple of hours. Otherwise I surf the world, like cashman, actually earning an honest crust or two plus very selective TV viewing. I am totally out of sync with the rest of the world except on Mondays being pension day.

I’ve also been sampling some of my old records (78’s, 45’s and LP’s) and putting them onto CD’s. I’m also a Moderator on the GoldenTalk forum and that can take up a lot of time.

Cashman – maybe you and me could swop notes on making a crust on the Internet. You never know I may have something going that could do you some good. On the other hand you could have the something for me. Please PM me if you are interested.

Ok, I'll give it a go -

First and foremost I'm a Mum and a Wife. Then I'm mostly Marketing Officer of Mid Pennine Arts. However, that's not all - I work freelance and in some cases voluntarily for a number of other organisations; Hyndburn Women's Forum, Hyndburn Mela, Oswaldtwistle Players, a leading house building company and a local private school amongst others.

The reason why I was so evasive is because I kind of do different things for each organisation but broadly speaking it's marketing and event management.

I also organise one-off events and activities for organisations and groups depending on budget and requirements. I also help some organisations get funding for events but don't manage the projects, again sometimes for a fee but mostly for free.

And almost forgot - I write articles for a couple of business magazines. I don't and NEVER have worked for the Accrington Observer, although I used to submit a column I never got paid for it.

So that's why it depends who's asking. :D

I manage the Music Zone store in Accy selling cd's and dvd's and chasing shoplifters! In my spare time [ha !] I am mum to my 10 year old daughter;partner to Paul and general dogsbody to the menagerie of pets! I like to watch Accy CC play cricket when it's not persisting down and also watch as many Stanley matches as I can. :)
