Actually Amber means STOP UNLESS you wil cause an accident. It under no circumstances in this country means go with caution.

Being that I am in the position of having a broken back because some one 'thought' oh its amber but its OK, he's a biker he'll go through anyway, I'll accelerate through behind him...... Oh **** hes stopped!, Crash bang wallop.

May I just point out that it was perfectly safe for me to stop. I didn't brake hard or anything, it was purely someone who made an assumption about another driver. Had she been watching teh lights she should/would have been able to stop in plenty of time

Stop unless you will cause an accident lmao. so it's ok to go if I cause an accident.
You mean stop unless in doing so might cause an accident.
In other words yes your right it means stop or don't go yet. it means get ready, an advanced warning.
But isn't that what butty said, stop but if it's not safe to do so, or you've already crossed the stop line proceed with caution. who would go through an amber and not proceed with caution, who wouldn't look to see if somethings coming out the sideroads etc, that you need to avoid.

If you can't understand the simple explanation in the Highway Code, I will get my 8 year old can explain it in really simpleton terms for you.

Good get him to explain it to you , because it's not me that questioned butties correct post. I know my highway code, thats why I didn't question him, I knew he was right. If your going to quote people, quote the whole lot so people can see that at no point in the post did I say that I didn't understand the very simple explanation in the highway code.
