Re: Is Money Important?
I've voted yes. Basically you can't do very much without money, and it has to be one of the worse feelings knowing that you have more outgoings then incomings, and having to watch every single penny just to keep your head above water.
Money is certainly not the be all end end all, there are more important things like friends, but unless you had money, you wouldn't have been out in the first place to have met them, and I know people tend to get fed up pretty quickly when you've constantly got no money to be doing anything. Much rather have money than not, it's certainly less depressing. |
Re: Is Money Important?
Sorry jambutty, if you want jambutty, you'll be jambutty.
Sarah, I've got boxes of booze here going out of date, I don't drink them, and Some of the best dates I've been on cost absolutely nothing, other than getting there, and we'd have walked if we had more time. I've not met any of them in the pub either. I do agree that money makes us happier because of the things it allows us to do and places to go, luxuries to buy, but me and GC will stick to our no votes. Maybe it was the trips that changed our out look on life. |

Re: Is Money Important?
But the point is that you don't because you don't need to. You have sufficient money to live but you also have a little extra to enjoy a luxury.
I'll stick to my point, money is important. Yes, in varying degrees but it's important. The only people that it's not important to is the ones that have too much of the stuff like everyone's new best friend 'Dave'. The rest of us manage to get by, we try to earn that little bit more than we need so that we can have a few luxuries to give us a quality of life that makes it worth while. |
Re: Is Money Important?
lol gayle, It's not important to me. If I was with someone who wanted more then perhaps it would be, but just to me personally no.Responsibilities of a family make you need money more. As for the the ones who've got it, it's more important to them than any of us. Aj has a right paddy if he thinks someones fiddled him out of a few quid of his millions. He has to be told calm down, I'll buy you a beer.

Re: Is Money Important?
My late father in law said the best thing you can have in life is contentment,,never be envious of what other folk have,
We were always happy as kids and we diddent have 2 halfpennies to rub together.. its not the material things in life that bring happiness, its love. |

I voted up to a point. Because we do need money to live but you don't need money to be happy.
My Dad always used to say " what you never had,you never miss." All you need is money to pay your bills a roof over your head and food in your belly. The rest is a case of want not necessity. |
Re: Is Money Important?
Exactly Anne..thats it in a nutshell

Re: Is Money Important?
Money can't buy you happiness, but at least you can be miserable in comfort.

Re: Is Money Important?
Very true andromeda, the thing is you don't need a lot to be comfortable, if you spend it wisely. It's suprising how many people give a large chunk of their precious money to people who who have more than enough already, and get nothing in return.

Re: Is Money Important?
Exactly, and you wouldn't give the taxman money through choice, so why do people waste so much money. You people spend time going to work to earn money so you can get a car and use expensive fuel, to just it going around the corner to the pub to save time walking there.
