Ossy Civic Theatre

I was having a conversation with a few mates and the Ossy Civic Theatre came up. One chap said that Eric Clapton (Slow Hand) had appeared at the theatre, which I questioned. Being a huge Clapton Fan I certainly think that if Eric had been appearing in Ossy I would have been on the front row. I'm sure that my mate was getting mixed up with Rick Wakeman who has appear a couple of times with his son. anyone know better

No chance, but I can confirm that Van Morrison has appeared at Accy Con.

Yes I agree Cashman, music does unite all types of people, unfortunatly I have never seen Eric live but I got hold of the DVD of the Cream reunion last year. I also have the DVD of Queen with Paul Rogers from last year as well.

Some of the music channels on sat carry great stuff from the sixties, the Yardbirds are no quite a lot, really takes me back to the sixties and my late teens, with todays offerings on the pop front its no wonder we have to keep delving back into yesteryear for good beaty music.

It probably was Eric Claphand, the Eric Clapton tribute act - that's what we usually get at Ossy Civic Theatre.

If it was 63/64, it was Clapton. If it was afterwards, it was Jeff Beck or perhaps even Jimmy Page.

It was the year when they had a hit with 'For your Love'....they sang that song on stage and said it was going to be released as a single soon after that. I remember buying the record at Mary's music on Whalley Rd.

As Mr C says, Eric left after "For Your Love" was released, so I reckon it was the great man himself. Who'd a'thowt it? Slowhand at Accy Con!
