Fellow Accywebbers.
 

Recently i met my 5th Accywebber and very strangely i kept quiet about knowing him/her!The other four have all known we were off accyweb before we met but i met the 5th person through a different situation so they didn't have a clue.Once again i found it very weird in that s/he was completely different to how i had thought going from how i percieved him/her on here.Has anyone else kept quiet whilst meeting someone off here?
I think seeing as i have never been to a meet to see 5 people off here is impressive,can anyone beat that (who has also not been to a meet)?

I have met many poeple over the last 15 years through the internet and not one single one of them has been like they seem on the internet... Hence why I will argue and fall out with anyone who takes me on in here... But in real life I will treat every single one of them with the upmost respect. Because there never the same person.... There are some absoloute morons on here (me included sometimes) but there such nice people in the 3d world (me included sometimes) :)

Just a shame some people on here can't seperate this from real life :)

I often wonder how many i have met without us both knowing were from Accyweb too.Such as if people work in shops that i go in or we may catch the same bus sometimes,id love to find out but we will probably never know.

I have a confession :( .... Willow and Busman parked their car near my house a few month back. I recognised them from pictures in the gallery but they wouldn't have known who I was. I didn't identify myself to them. In my defence I'm not an ignorant person I was still in my nightie ..... that would have scared them half to death!! :eek:

I've met loads of people off here now and I'm still convinced I'm the only sane person on here!! :D

I've met a few at a mini meet, at the stanley ground & during course of getting a lead for pc - met Mick & surprised 2 regular accywebbers today again on a mission:D

I have met people off here!! Usually during meets. I don't think I have ever met anyone and kept my identity hidden though!! or at least not on purpose.

I've met people I've already met at the meets in town. there was four of us in a phone shop. So thats got to be the largest accyweb meet in such a small premises ever.

I'm like that here gayle, If I went to a meet They'd know me more than me knowing them. Although I've upset a few more people than you maybe, by telling people how I see things, so maybe it's best I don't go to their meet lol
It's our local atherstone town council elections next year, and I intend to stand, unless something changes my mind.

I walk around the touchline at stanley and have been to meets so loads know me... more see me than I see them..

But this way when I tell people how things are its certainly not anonymous :)

Well I don't think there's a problem about upsetting people here. I mean, I've had a couple of run ins with people on this site but I wouldn't hold a grudge at a meet (although I would try to explain my point of view a bit better).

When I first went to a meet, Less and I carried on a bit of a discussion (for discussion read argument) but we got over it pretty quickly.

Good luck in the elections if you do decide to stand.

I think it would get too heated, and we don't meet to fall out do we, we meet to have a good time and socialise. Maybe when I come to the next meet you'll be there gayle and kipax. Never really spoke to you gayle even though you was at the first meet. I can't remember who was at the second meet, my ex ruined it for me, and it put me off a bit with her living so close up there.

That's the last time I make you a brew then! You know when I am in the chatroom I am the sanest person in there lightweight. You agreed that the other night!

I went to a meet last year met rindy, mez, mick and the rest there. Cashman & Tinks and Mthead all been to my house for a brew. Bumped into entwisi playing pool one night. I know some of the people on here before I joined accyweb as well but they dont know who i am on here! :D Mind you i'll tell them next time I see them!

ive argued the toss with many on here, met a lot of them at the meets and never met a bad un yet.;) its much differant in real life also agree that when you meet them they are never what you imagine.

I've met loads of people from Accy Web.

No one is as you picture them in your head.

Lettie I had down as a Sissy Spacek licky-likey for some reason!

I also asked Pendy if was in the scouts! She replied in the negative.

Every single person I've met I've enjoyed meeting.

My only regret is never knowingly having met Acrylic-bob. Though someone at the tripe stall on the market gave me a knowing stare once.:D

I met many of the usual suspects at a meet a year are so back, each one unique, each one friendly and polite. Love Mez to bits, she was very kind and helpful in the past, Mick very much a gentleman, less is someone who I find to be genuine and full of humour, if a little cutting.

I met KSH sometime back and he was very much what I expected and a gentleman.

Others I have seen at the football ground Some don’t live up to expectations Mr Rindy is all gob, full of it on here, but very little said in real life.

I’d like to meet Simon, seen him about the ground but I’ve never spoken to him, same for Mr Kipax, not at all what I had imagined, He really is quite a nice bloke but I have never extended a hand.

I’d love to meet Tinks and Slinks, seen a few dodgy birds around accy but I wouldn’t know them if I saw them. :D

Slinks is easy to find Dougie ...... usually the corner of Paradise St. late at night. Make sure you remember to ask her for a price list before hand though :D

So far, I've met four fellow Accywebbers who've all been really nice people. However, I've sometimes wondered about meeting webbers who I might have clashed with on here. I tend to take Kipax's view that it's not real life, but does everyone think that way? Would I, for example, be able to enjoy a friendly pint with Cyfr or would we glower at each other from opposite ends of the bar?

When we have the meet's EVERYONE is very friendly you could have been having a big argument on site only an hour before yet get to the meet your buying each other a pint,and having a laugh , its not very often that things talked about on site are talked about at the meets .
I am not going to list the members i have met the list would be too big but everyone i have met have been great.
And i look forward to meeting a lot more .

I do attend the meets so have met loads off here and had some great times too!!! :) I have met a few that don't attend the meets also and have not had any problems with anyone!! But I am sure there are some that I have met who know who I am but I haven't known who they are, spooky!!!! :rolleyes:

There are a couple of people who take the messageboard over to real life and to the meet.. Hence why I dont go to them regularly... If you have been a pain..especialy to the accyweb mafia.. they will have a go at you... It happened to me and I wasnt impressed enough to want to go regular..

But if your a member of the accyweb mafia or you havent upset them too much they will welcome you with open arms and you will ahve a good evening wiht them.... but beware..they do take the MB a bit too serious :)

Thats true ish. I have been to a few meets and never seen anyone argueing. I think you have been a d***head on here a few times ( who hasn't ) but when I meet you I will shake you by the hand like everyone else. Like you said, this is a message board but many people on here are friends in real life as well, thats why I think there is a carry over to real life. It is because we are all local, it is different on the international boards I use.

Ive not had any problems i find generally on the whole most Accywebbers are what they portray here on the forum, i was at stanley on sat & can say Harwood Red is definately mad as a hatter:p, where was you Kipax i would of introduced meself so you could find out im just same in person as on web :D

Ive been on loads of meets mainly from all over uk non local & again they have been firm friends & are as real as on net, trouble is you cant put on an act or its so easy to be caught out once at meets...as one or two i met whom was all confident & brash - yet wont say boo to a goose in realtime.
