Karma

This has prolly been mentioned before but how do people feel about having negative karma either removed, or a name being put to it? I'm sure this can easily be done (another forum i use disabled negative karma).

I just feel that if people want to be negative they should not be able to hide behind the fact that they don't have to show who they are. Perhaps it's just me, but I find it rather cheaky when someone leaves negative feedback slagging you off without daring to leave their identity, almost cowardly...

Thoughts?

Re: Karma

If people had to leave their name I doubt much negative would happen because of the expected neg return. By being annoymous someone can say what they want without fear of reprisal. I take it you have some neg, don't we all. Who have you been upsetting? Was it funny/insulting/boring?

Re: Karma

I havn't upset anyone in particular, well not that im aware, if they wish to say it out loud and explain then heres their chance ;)

Was from the 'theft' thread where I told people to not make mountains out of molehills. :D

I guess I can understand the reason behind it, that you would just give negative right back.. but it's very 'behind your back' when people can say rude things in karma then your chating to them the next day none the wiser. :p

I suppose it is when you look at it like that. I don't always sign +ve karma, I like to leave them guessing.

Re: Karma

Actually, that's true isn't it. I could give bad karma, sign it from Neil and everyone would think he was the mean one.

Btw for the record - I've only ever once given bad karma and I did sign it my self.

Re: Karma

There is no real way of knowing who gave karma. Just because it is signed means nothing.

I just got this one - "Meet me in the park at midnight for some fun - accymel"

I wonder if it is genuine ;)

dont disagree with you cyfr for once, on the odd occasion i deduct i always sign it as a few can testify, though i sometimes forget when its positive,:D to be honest it cracks me up,but i do think its a bit crappy.

Re: Karma

if you work out how many was took and who's on line then you know most of the time. Just wait and take some back . I'd be on about 300 karma now if it wasn't for the witch hunt :D the nice decent people of this forum give me positive cos I've got my own mind, even if they don'talways agree, the nasty take it because they haven't got there own mind.
there are others of course, the odd times when someone genuinely doesn't agree with what I've put and rates that post on that content and signs it. if I can see where that person is coming from then i wont retaliate, but more often than not it's because they haven't read the post right and have automaticaly given me negative rather than posting and clarifying it first.
non of the other sites I use bother with karma even though it's enabled. If they dissagree they say so in the post.
I've come to the conclusion therefor that the karma is best ignored, pretend it doesn't exist or you'll just end up an *** licker and not have your own mind on here.
