e.g. my own major accident. I've ridden thousands of miles on bikes, sometimes faster than I should, sometimes more recklessly than I should, sometimes mor stupidly than I should, my only major accident was because I stopped(0 mph) at a red light on a major road out of a city with a certain person in a car behind me.

Bikes are great in the right place in the right hands. Either taxed, insured and MOT'd and on the road with a competant adult riding them. Or on an off road track specially designed for this purpose and either ridden by an adult or a child that is supervised by an adult, in which case they will need to travel there on a trailer NOT on the road.
In the wrong place and the wrong hands they are a lethal weapon

Yes people with common sense know it's a joke entwisi, but someone thought it would be a joke to do it, maybe someone who kept calling the police and got fed up with what they saw as no action being taken. They obviously thought it would just knock him off and he'd get up, like in the war films, but no. I'm just making the point before someone ends up in prison for playing a practical joke.
No they didn't catch whoever it was.

I always like to let bikes pass, I can't stand them being behind me and I'm sure they feel the same way.

I would agree with you on that. All too often we all see idiots on motor bikes doing stupid things so I tend to tar all bikers with the same brush, which is of course wrong of me.

Re: motor bikes

yep but TBH its rubbish, too many cars/plod/idiots.

There is a road that runs almost parrallel that is just as good but I can't remember its name at teh min.

There are cracking roads all over teh north west for bikes, we do live in gods own motorcycling county.
