Have You Started Yet ?

I mean christmas shopping ?
Bought a few things today
The penny jar is filling up nicely, should be full at xmas so i can haul it down to asda to that change machine and buy the turkey :D

Told the lads not to expect half as much as they have had in previous years, at 16 and 18 ...time to cut down. :D

Christmas shopping? Wow.. No, I haven't yet.

I've only just bought my friend's birthday present, and her birthday's in november. Hmmn, I guess I should start looking around for Christmas presents. :P

I started some time ago. When I see something that would make an appropriate gift for someone on my list, I make the purchase.

Of course, when I was in the UK in July, did a pretty fair amount of shopping for Christmas.

I keep a 'Treasure Drawer'....I add gifts to this all year round and when a birthday creeps up on me...as they sometimes do, I go and see what presents I have in my 'Treasure Drawer'.

Jimmi5bellies......just out of curiosity how much do the change counting machines at asda charge you ? here in California the machines in the supermarkets charge 8.1/2 % , extortionate in my view , but the banks refuse to take coins in quantity unless counted and wrapped into rolls and even then charge a fee.
I think some banks on the east coast have free coin counting machines but not here , maybe someone can put me straight .

I think its 7p for every £1 but if you are using the machine for money collected for a charity that is registered to the machine there is no charge.

I bank at Commerce Bank here in New Jersey. All branches have free coin counting machines. Very useful!

I've never encountered any bank that charged for taking properly counted and rolled coins here. Did have a bank that tried to charge an organization I belong to a "cash handling fee" but we promptly took our business elsewhere. There are a lot of nasty little bank charges these days if you are not careful.
